[REL] Grimmer and Grimmest

Do I have to make a new character for this mod to work (0.9.7)? I just installed it, linked my save folders and picked Grimmest from Custom Game. But the spawns seem pretty much normal. =/

Cant kill Queen Ravna on Grimmest 0.9, she just disappears after her first phase :frowning:

Hi jiaco,

I put your mod on Kırmızı Perfect with download mirrors on my server. Check it out:

https://www.kirmiziperfect.com/grim-dawn-grimmer-and-grimmest-mod/

I do not want to appear negative, but seeing all that imperfect text copy pasted somewhere else, just makes me embarrassed. So assume someday, I clean up this lame forum posts, you are going to update your site too?

In addition, I am not even sure if Ravna is bugged in 0.9 or not. On the subject of updates, when I update my mod, you have to update your site too, I guess. How is that going to work? You watch the forums a lot or we have to notify you?

Seems like you are setting your self up for a lot of work.

To end on a positive note, the site looks very nice (well, except for the crap I wrote that you copy pasted  ).

Why are you saying like that? What i see from (nearly) all mods, the explanations aren’t very organized already. Because i guess the modders are mostly busy with making mods, it is understandable. But your post texts aren’t crap of course.

Yes i mostly copy paste the text, because it is the mod author’s work and his/her explanation must be there and writing seperate article for every mod is undoable for one person. (unless i am making some mod list)
But i am organizing the text as much as i can for the readers. I am dividing the text into sections, and specify this order as best as i can for the best reading, colorify the important parts etc. I also re-pack the mod archives and change the names to some order, adding version numbers to the package if missing and most importantly uploading them to my server. (they are also being categorized in server directory structure) Modding is a lot of work and i don’t want them to be lost or search them at the far corners of the internet.

A lot of work, yes but i like it. So, no problem for me.

I’m happy you liked the site ^^ Yes of course i will update! I am following the forums but also you can e-mail me if you want: [email protected]

EDIT: Put a note about the possible 0.9 bug on KP.

Hi jiaco,

Elfe pm’ed about the mischief i have given to the mod creators. I want to apologize personally from every mod author. I have created the thread below to explain myself and i will be very happy if you let me host your mods.

Thanks.

The title says it all.Thank you for your hard work, mod is certainly worth installing

I don’t know what’s going on but for some reason the autopickup in the 1.0 release from the last page isn’t working for me. When I walk over an item the item disappears from the world, it just doesn’t then show up in my inventory.

edit - And now I’m not getting it to do anything. I put the grimmer folder exactly as I downloaded it into my mods folder and now nothing is changed from vanilla except for the half-functioning autopickup I mentioned earlier. :\

Autopick is supposed to be in Grimarillion, not Grimmest…if what you describe is happening in v0.9 Grimmest, then maybe you are first person to play this and it is bug.

v0.9 works fine when I try it, my problems were when I was trying to use the release in this post:

hehe

Interesting, thanks. Really need to use an upload site that tracks download numbers, I suspect 1.

So I tried Queen Ravna again on a new character, same thing happens.

When you kill her first phase the animation begins for her second phase, but then she just sort of explodes and nothing happens.

This is on Grimmest 0.9, I tried on both normal/veteran but the same thing happens.

Other than that, great mod

Thanks for the report Nighthawker, I have neglected this too long. Will rectify this tomorrow.

Hello jiaco!

Thank you for your mod. Coming from DAIL Grimmest (S) I would like to provide some more feedback on areas which would really need a decrease of spawn and some areas which could even get some more spawn to reach a somehow more equalized density.

I am more thinking of performance problems, we are a group of 3 playing DAIL and even with “quite good gaming computers” some areas really are ensured freeze/stutter/lag (sometimes even crashes) and I wanted to ask you if you would be interested in such feedback and as I do not know how the spawn pools exactly work, what would be the best way to give you such feedback in a precise way?

Without Grimmest none of us would love GD as much as we do. As I have introduced players to it, they all said “I guess you would die from loneliness without it”

@NoxMortem

I am most interested in this type of feedback. Every so often I go through my own screens and try to tone down or bump up encounters, but my playtime is practically zero, so please help me out. Any area that crashes a computer that can basically handle the mod, should be adjusted for sure.

Cool! How precise would you require the location decription to be?

Also the white mobs in Grimmest would likely feel better with a slight increase in level (e.g. +1). Yellow+ mobs are fine. Some specific boss fights are way to easy compared to other areas, is this something where I could give you feedback or is grimmest the wrong way to balance it. For example, the warden fight is just ridiculously easy compare to almost all multi hero spawns earlier.

Just wanted to let you know that I saw this. Very warm and fuzzy inside, thanks.

I have gotten pretty good at knowing what proxy spawns where and what, so a screen shot or a general description is enough. I would love to get more ideas and feedback from all over the map, with just enough detail for each location to make it clear to me where you are and what enemy types are lacking or too plentiful.

For the whites, that can be done fairly easy I suspect. For the Warden, I am not really sure. I guess I can warn you now that not all feedback will be instantly integrated. There are lots of people giving feedback and I was under the impression the Warden fight was in a good place. Easier than the Shambler in some respects, but you are locked in that small room too. I have been told not to touch Salazaar and that fight, well, I just avoid it for the most part, not fun at all imo.

Great! Oh yeah, we ran into salazaar as a group of 3. I can’t tell you how often we died but we also had been level 10 or so and he was like +5-10 levels higher. The most annoying part was that his life bar desynced between us and we did not know “how long we have to continue” hitting him, but this is a GD engine problem and not one of your mod obviously  We had fun and with a higher level I guess it would really be an okay fight (on veteran, not ultimate!)
