A very tedious endeavor, having click each individual section and upgrade or remove walls and fences. Then just to add extra tedium, having to click OK for each section. A click and drag would be so much easier.
Welcome to the forum. 
You can mass manage fences/walls by using the Manage Walls icon on the bottom right of the screen. Click on that, drag the cursor over the part you want and then choose from the options available.

It’s like people don’t even check out what the visible buttons on the screen do!
