Request for Native Korean Input Support in Grim Dawn

Hi Crate Team,

First of all, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the developers for officially supporting the Korean translation. As a Korean player, I truly appreciate the effort put into making this game accessible in my language, and I can assure you that there is a large and passionate community of Grim Dawn players in Korea.

I am writing this to suggest a much-needed quality-of-life improvement: Native Korean text input support.

One of the best features in Grim Dawn is the search functionality in the Stash and Inventory. It is incredibly useful for managing items. However, since the game does not currently support direct Korean character input, Korean players cannot utilize this feature properly.

Currently, we have to use a very clunky workaround:

  1. Open an external application (like Windows Notepad or Steam Overlay notes).
  2. Type the search keyword in Korean there.
  3. Copy the text (Ctrl+C).
  4. Alt-tab back into Grim Dawn and paste it (Ctrl+V) into the search bar.

It’s a frustrating process for such a fundamental feature. With the massive upcoming patches and the new DLC expected this year, we believe this would be the perfect time to implement native Korean input support.

Many Korean players are eagerly waiting for this improvement. We believe that adding this support would not only help existing players but also make the game much more welcoming for new players entering the world of Cairn.

Thank you for your hard work and for considering this request!

Regarding input methods, this is a long-standing problem that has plagued Chinese players, dating back to the TQ era, and it’s unlikely to improve in the short term.
