RxJunkie's Wheelin' n' Double Damage Dealin' Digest!

Have no fear, the rumors of this thread becoming a #DeadThread are simply not true! Woooo!

Life sometimes has a habit of getting in the way of gaming as I am sure we are all aware of. Despite that I will try to post up a few builds before Christmas comes in just a few short weeks! :christmas_tree:

The first build I am writing up and hope to get posted tonight or tomorrow draws inspiration from my crappy holiday season (so far). Hopefully you all are having fun though!

Is this thread dead? No, but this new build is hanging by a thread, behold…

Confused Consumer - Charge and Sigils Vitality/Decay/Chaos/Aether Cow B-List

Pros:

  • The first tri damage non elemental build
  • 22/22 Tri Damage Sigil split into Vitality/Chaos/Aether
  • more than 3k OA/DA with 500k highest crit
  • -%RR is 103 Vitality/117 Aether/58 Chaos and extra 10 more with Foul Eruption
  • Suprisingly not squishy(still weak to burst damage)
  • SR 33 doable within timelimit
  • Does not struggle against most/all nemesis in SR 30-33

Cons:

  • Damage is understandably low with ±2000 on Aether, and ±1900 on Vitality and Chaos
  • Slow to clear but can do SR30-33 without dying and 2 minute remaining on timer

Stats

How can this build even exist? I was thinking that Fire/Lightning build usually doable normally, but can Aether/Chaos mixbag do the same, as both combination share Eldritch Fire and Arcane Bomb devotion. I take Korvaak since %All damage is needed for damage hybrid, pick Occultist for Chaos damage, and Necro for Aether damage. Since both class also support Vitality damage, I guess why not pick Rattosh and start to make a draft in Grimtools.

I take Sigil because it is easy to convert fire to aether from Dreadfire and the rarely used Flames of Wrath, and 22/22 sigil/destruction is not hard to reach with minimal item slot. The rest of the item is focused on increasing OA and resistance, hence the green festival.

At first while DPSing Korvaak, my assessment this build is probably a SR65 build since Korvaak takes time to kill, so I try to play safe and try to do the SR30(previously SR75) by playing safe. To my surprise, it didn’t died a single time in there and can face tank IM, Fabius, and Moosi. I keep pushing and meet with the other nemesis and even able to facetanking Kaisan and then Reaper. Toughest boss I face is Shattered Gargabol, since he can take like 90% health in second, and the only one I need to kite in my run.

As always, here is the save file to anyone who wants to try this shenanigans

Congrats here on this very fine achievement! Woooo!

Excellent job on your build here for sure. You’re making me add a new category in the Index for Tri Damage Dealers (TDD)!

Log-Hurl-ean - Caster Acid/Vitality Throw Feces/Bloody Poop/Ravenous Earth Cabalist

Whatchu lookin’ at? Wanna get a load of this?
Log-Hurl-ean GT

Cleanup in aisle 6! Bring all the mops and buckets we’ve got!

Build Comment: I quickly made this very memetastic build after coming into work from having a few days off to find the biggest pile of crap I’ve ever seen. I was not pleased to say the least.

jurassic-park-pile-of-shit

My exact reaction captured on video…

Naturally I felt the need to craft a pretty shitty meme build using the absolute crappiest skill in the game, Throw Feces. There are fond memories here for me since that item dropped from my very first Warden kill way, way back in the day of the early Alpha. :sunglasses:

After finding my spam skill, the next part involved getting a decent build going. Focusing on Occultist so I could get some Bloody Poop Pox action going made for a fitting pair of skills. The build flowed like a brown river right into adding Necromancer for the Acid Ill Omen from the Radaggan’s Folly Set. Finally, the build ended up pushing the turd of a skill (imho) Ravenous Earth to 26/16 to make the very ground look like it had Taco Bell for dinner the night before!

Devotion wise I added in Rend from Huntress to Blood Poop since it’s in the name and more -OA shred is better. Now the total -OA got up to a whopping -500! :grava_yes: Going for more thematical Devotions led me to grab Fetid Pool to make it seem like enemies are literally crapping their own pants.

The build that started out as a little brown :poop: had grown into a huge bloody slimy mess! :muscle:

#Flair is provided by building off of the excellent Soiled Trousers themselves. After starting there I paired the basic shovel with the brown log of the Fewmets of the Questing Beast along with the matching Fewmet Grips and Cauldron of Excitement (so exciting!).

I hope you all enjoy this craptastic build and I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas! :christmas_tree:

Wraithflame - Caster Aether/Vitality/Vitality Decay Flames of Ignaffar Apostate

Wraithflame GT
Wraithflame DPS
(vs Dummy with all buffs active via DPYes)

Build Comment: Since I promised a Christmas color build a while ago I decided to post this FoI build in response to the recent FoI buffs instead of the Aether :damage_aether:/Chaos :damage_chaos: build I was originally planning. This is more of a vintage Christmas color build! Inspiration for the colors were from my wife’s collection of antique and vintage Christmas ornaments like these… :sunglasses:

Glass+Ball+Ornament

This GT was drafted a while ago and when I gave it a test drive, it turned out to be very comfy. With the 16% ADCtH built into FoI (and another 16% from WD%!) combined with 15/12 Inquisitor’s Seal plus the increased Racial Damage (and decreased damage taken!) to both Eldritch and Chthonic enemies, this build turned out to be one that can just sit in the Seal and get it’s :fire: on!

Doubling the turning rate and extending the cone range of Flames of Ignaffar was a really great change in the recent patch. The slower monster speed is definitely noticeable here too. Having the skeletons from the Revenant Devotion slow monsters on hit plus Word of Pain dropping total speed with the Gildam Arcanum Commendation makes the fights flow nicely. Before, the monsters would run around you jockeying for position and you could miss them with your cone. Now, the fights are less chaotic and you can burn them down quickly to easily move onto the next target! :muscle:

Itemization is pretty straight forward and the affixes for the Grava’Thul’s Legguards and Benn’Jahr’s Shoulderguards don’t even matter. Just get whatever you need for resistances and you can sacrifice some +% Health Augments to cover your bases.

#Flair is provided by building off of the Virtue’s Armor for the burgundy with etched gold color scheme combined with the Decree of Malmouth itself. To continue with this burgundy and gold color combo I used the Diviner’s Mantle and the Eastern Gloves. I liked the more muted Aether :damage_aether: coloration with the Decree so I opted to go with the ethereal Bound Wraith for the off-hand and the Spectral Crown for the helmet to match. Woooo!

Since 2025 is upon us, my next build will be all about :fireworks: to help ring in the New Year!

Excellent suggestion for next year! Why do I feel like I just disappointed my kids on Christmas… :sob:

For years I was heavily traumatized with the clown attire common before illusions were added to GD… it’s a daily struggle to keep all my characters looking so fresh, so clean! :sunglasses:

Hmmmm… best I can do is an update to my DW Melee Aether/Chaos Fire Strike Sorcerer from years ago. Christmas lights all around - hope it fits the bill! :christmas_tree:

I’m sure it’s still too classy…

So far 2025 has been filled to the brim with tons o’ fun (not really), but it looks like I can finally get back to playing GD and posting some :fire: DDD builds!

2025_vs_me

2025 knocking me out cold in early January…

Despite all the things going on in my life outside of the GD forum universe it’s time for #RicFlair to rise again and come out swinging. Nothing can keep me away from my (self)-appointed duty! Woooo! :muscle:

Without further ado, the first update is for my very first build posted on the forums and my very first DDD build as well! I’ve updated the post above and the changes are listed here.

Frostblaze v2.0:

  • Swapped Ghoul for Behemoth for a solid +2K Health and ~2K/sec Health Regen with Giant’s Blood up
  • Using Blademaster’s Talisman to reach 77% WPS total and for more flat OA/%OA/%DA (from Completion Bonus)
  • Build became quite solid with very respectable DPS
  • Very easy and fun to play!

Next up for tomorrow is a build that I promised back at the end of the year in time for New Year’s Eve :fireworks: until life got in the way. As luck would have it, the build is going up tomorrow for a very important day. (I promise!) Without a doubt, my next DDD build is coming in with a…

This post begins with a short story about a simple man in the world of Cairn. A man that just wanted to be alone and nameless going through the motions of life until that all changed and he ended up becoming known in the end as “Killcannon”.

Even as a small young boy Harvin Meemeyer grew up in Cairn wanting nothing more in life than to become an independent muffler (and cannon) repairman. One day he was able to purchase a small plot of land in Old Grove, a beautiful and sparsely populated area southwest of Devil’s Crossing. He built his repair shop and happily serviced the people surrounding Devil’s Crossing with their various repair jobs. Twice a year he traveled on a long journey northward to Fort Ikon fixing the mufflers (and cannons) of the Black Legion’s Battlewagons. Those lumbering iron monstrosities with their multitude of cannon and large exhaust mufflers kept him busier and busier each and every time he traveled.

Harvin sighs deeply. “Guess they drank too much Burrwitch Brew last night…”

On one particular trip during a longer than normal absence the local government of Devil’s Crossing declared his shop and land abandoned. They decided to turn the area into a dumping ground of scrap, trash and other unwanted assets. Upon his return, he discovered this newly made trash dump blocking access to his shop. Angrily Harvin appealed to the Devil’s Crossing government for relief and to give him back access to his shop. They mocked him and sent him on his way as they were now making a small fortune from the asset dumping in Old Grove. Why would they want to change anything now?

“Dual wielding shields? Who thought of that terrible idea?”, scoffs Harvin.

With anger rising in him at an increasing pace, Harvin scrambled over the massive scrap heap in his way until he finally arrived at his shop. During the treacherous journey across the pile, he vowed to do to the Devil’s Crossing government buildings what was done to his. Using his extensive muffler and cannon parts collection along with a stockpile of discarded explosives he found in the trash heap, Harvin cobbled together a fat-barreled Grenado launcher he named Adversary (affectionately refered to as his Boom Bewm Stick).

Harvin spent many months months stockpiling enough Grenados and Canister Bombs to level Fort Ikon itself and made a collection of “pet” Mortar Traps he hoped to fire upon his enemies with from afar. When things were ready, he started the journey back northward through Old Grove with vengeance burning in his eyes. In the heavy morning air he set up his Mortars at dawn just across the rumbling river southwest of Devil’s Crossing. With a grim look of determination on his face Harvin began lobbing explosives in the air arching their way towards the various government buildings that lay empty at the time. After all, he was no murderer, he just wanted revenge for what they did to him.

tony_stark_boom

Harvin letting those Grenados, Canister Bombs and Mortars fly!

Mortar shots, Big Ones, Canister Bombs and Grenados flew through the morning fog to smash against the Town Hall and other government buildings making quick work of their thin, flimsy walls. Before long, his job finished and so he fired off the remaining armament at the local prison chipping away at the strong structure. Taking a look around after the explosions stopped and burned away the fog, Harvin was satisfied to see that his actions harmed nobody except for the many buildings that now lay as piles of rubble in front of him.

With his stockpile running short and the sunlight piercing through the fog and clouds of smoke, Harvin’s gaze turned to the local population gathering in the distance to approach his position. He knew that his time was running out and he would be captured and imprisoned (or worse), but he completed what he set out to accomplish those many days ago. Harvin smiled as took out his last remaining Grenado he saved for just this purpose and after lighting the fuse calmly dropped it at his feet.

:boom:

Killcannon - Grimtools

(vs Dummy with all buffs active via DPYes)

Build Comment: This build started life out as one of mine from way, way, way back in the very early days of the Alpha. The Commando was my favorite at the time with the explosions that certainly had a great punch to them. I recently rediscovered my really old saves and found my original Commando named Boom Bewm after the double team :boom: boss combo early on in Borderlands 2. After updating it to today’s standards with new equipment, this build became very fun to play and the simple “blacksmith” style with the Iron Blunderbuss fits just right! It’s one of my favorite Fashion Dawns of all time - so simple and clean! #GetYourFlairOn Woooo!

Although this build packs a punch with tons of explosions all over the screen, sustain can be a bit tough. Wielding Adversary to give %WD to both Grenado and Canister Bomb helps, particularly when you proc multiple in a row from Ulzuin’s Chosen. However, you really feel like a bulldozer or a wrecking ball when you toss 3 Grenados in a row straight in the face of whatever stands in your way (not for long!). :skull:

Despite this gambling nature from wanting Ulzuin’s Chosen to proc all the time, the build has plenty of skills to toss down and certainly does not have a shortage of buttons to press. I hope you enjoy the build and give it a try if you have some time - the explosions really are satisfying! :boom:
