Savagery needs a massive buff

In my opinion, the problem with savagery is the weird Lightning / bleeding combination

What’s with this misconception that MIs somehow are better than other items? Three of those MIs are resistance cappers only, something that can easily be done with epics and legendaries. The only MI that increase damage is the Gollus ring and there’s better lightning damage rings.

Just because someone has some MIs doesn’t mean the character is inherently better than one with legendaries and epics.

I’m not comparing our builds, man, I’m just saying lightning builds are weaker then cold, fire, pierce, acid/poison and other ones. Even all this MIs don’t do nothing.

How is your Fabius killing time of 26 seconds can be called weak? Ultos builds (both elementalists, druids and warders) rip through Ultimate. Whenever I run with my druid I don’t even stop for trash mobs, they die from all the AOE residue. Heroes die extremely quick as well, I never need a Wendigo with them. Sure, big bosses like Fabius might take some time, but that’s just Fabius.

And you have probably seen what Light Defender Elementalist can do with capped casting speed and 26/16 stun jacks and full spread, it’s just madness.

It’s also hard to compare different classes clearing times, because some of them struggle a bit in certain areas (like fire/chaos/vitality in BoC, aether ones in PoV, bleeders in SoT) and with certain bosses.

To me lightning could use a bit more RR support from gear and devotions, like maybe one more celestial proc or one ring.

Actually it’s 21 sec with Glyph of Kelphat’Zoth
Even “dead” pierce BM can do it in 12 sec. That’s around 50% in damage output difference. Just look at the top builds of each damage type.
AoE and trash cleaning is not a problem in this game, only a few builds lack of it. Lightnings just is keeping up.
Nice RR support coming with Ultos constellation.

Nightblades will always have faster Fabius clear times due to the human damage bonus passive, so a direct comparison of clear times isn’t very useful in this case.

Trickster still sucks.
Anyway we can compare damage output on MQ, dummy or another target without special bonuses. Or just take account % damage to human.

Fighting Form and Explosive Strike say hello.

Try this: take transmuted Primal Strike and Savagery to max and put them on your LMB and RMB, then take a look at their sheet DPS and tell me what you see.

DPS tooltip is misleading. IRC, for Savagery it dosent cout stacks. For fire strike it dosent count explosive strike and give wrong nuber for static strike.
Anyway, after few patches autoatackers were nerfed intro oblivion. Full ultos or not, they suck.

Cadence only goes off every third hit, totally isn’t meant to be single target focused

Sheet DPS doesn’t say absolutely nothing about your true DPS, it’s horribly misleading. I have a Trasmuted Primal Strike Elementalist and a Savagery Warder - Savagery Warder kills much faster. If my Savagery Warder was Elementalist instead, then it would be killing even faster because Soldier is a suboptimal second mastery for Lightning Savagery.

Here’s the thing, AoE’s major sources are procs and devotions and not Explosive Strike or Fighting Form

Not saying they are bad modifiers but rather they are never enough, not even in vanilla. You need 2 to 3 procs going left and right to make sure the stronger mobs (like hulks) don’t gank you

Also, as others have said sheet DPS is very misleading. It is a good way to get a somewhat decent idea but practical build performance is another beast to tackle.

Unsure about Static strike calculation, but Fire Strike’s DPS calculation was altered a few patches ago to include Explosive Strike’s damage

How does PS transmuter interact with Torrent? Does the latter lose the WDM part completely? I know for a fact transmuters affect the whole line, but it’s unclear how they affect WDM parts, since those are left unchanged in the tooltips.

I’m pretty sure that the transmuter only affects the base skill, so Torrent still does full damage.

Transmuters affect all skills in the line.

Just to be clear this is limited to transmuters only right?

Like it’s not necessarily the same for interactions b/w skill modifiers right?

For example, Static Strike’s Knockdown doesn’t knockdown every enemy caught in explosive strike’s radius
I think this is intended

But you are wrong, which is easy to check in-game.

So it looks like the -% Total Damage affects Torrent, but not the -% Weapon Damage? Weird.

Btw does anyone know how the Charge Level pecentages work? Do they act like % Total Modified Damage?

Even if you take Deadly Momentum out of the picture, Cadence still has higher sheet DPS than a 16/0/12 Savagery. That is just sad.

Are you seriously ignoring the people (including myself) that said DPS sheet means nothing?

Cadence is the one meant to be single target focused. It doesn’t matter if Savagery only hits single targets, Cadence still only procs every 3 hits.
