I really hate asking but I cant find the character save files for the life of me.
I am trying to upload into grimtools.

To upload your character to Grim Dawn Build Calculator click the ‘up arrow’ button in the upper-lefthand corner. If you have cloud saves enabled (enabled by default) your save file will be in \Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata########\219990\remote\save\main_{character name}\player.gdc
Otherwise it will be in \My Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\save\main_{character name}\player.gdc
Then click on the icon below the arrow and copy the link shown to paste here.

there is no steam file in the first suggestion.
In my documents/mygames grim dawn there is
-Screenshots
-Settings
a microsoft edge log
and an xml log
Are you using Steam version?
in the game it says under gameplay settings -Cloud saving (character save data in steam cloud)
but I cant find it in steam.
Wondering… if I unchecked that, would it save in one of the normal places you mentioned already?

well, that didn’t do anything good. I turned off cloud saving and when I logged back in–there were no characters saved at all. Just empty like I first got the game.
That’s because you just can’t turn it off. You need to do this
and then make sure cloud saving is turned off in both the Steam settings and the ingame Options menu.

Doesn’t exist on my computer. There is no steam File there.
This
C:\Users\username\Documents\my games\Grim Dawn\save\main
has no saves at all.
D is where Steam is located
there are no grim dawn saves anywhere that I can find.

Check if OneDrive (if you have it) hasn’t hi-jacked the My Documents folder.
Being on the D drive shouldn’t affect Steam saves, it would be the same pathing just on D instea of C. I have my Steam on D, but I use local saves so they’re in My Documents.
nope–onedrive had a few things but nothing do with grimdawn/steam etc
I added Grim Dawn to Steam
I played, logged out
Still cant find any kinds of saves or character info.
I found a bunch of files under Steam
like Appcache
logs
package
resource
No saves.
No character names
its a mystery

Well, since you’re using an illegal copy of the game I’m not surprised it was so hard to find.
Please get a legit copy of the game before you come on to the official forum asking for help.
