I know that a similar issue already existed, but this is very special.
Issue: Savegames didn’t exist anymore
Yesterday I saved a lot via Autosave und also manually, sometimes.
Today the game reported, that there are no saved games.
If I understood correctly, I should search in: C:\Users\%currentuser%\Documents\My Games\Farthest Frontier\Save
Root cause
I installed the game on E: drive using Steam.
Apparently the game then used folder for Savegames on E: drive (instead of the one above): E:\My Games\Farthest Frontier\Save\
The folder E:\My Games didn’t exist before, Farthest Frontier created it.
Sidenote: Yesterday also loading games was possible. So within the game session yesterday, saving/loading used same location on E:. Today the game used the correct location on C: and didn’t find the games.
Workaround
- Closed game
- copied files from E: folder (see above) to
C:\Users\%currentuser%\Documents\My Games\Farthest Frontier\Save\* - started game
Savegames are now shown and can be loaded.
Possibly caused by Windows controlled folder access policy, by the way. But I am not sure: I actually added permission for the game directly after 1st game start
