Final Batch of Doomstown. I guess will wait for final release for next town. I think need to take a flat map challenge but that might be really hard .

I had to move the barn. The cows enjoyed a leisurely stroll down main street to their new home…

Clap! Amazing “garden” you have there! Props!

Finally 100% T4 houses, full symmetry with curvy shapes !

Por acaso estava a pensar no parque da ponte, mas falta um lago

Wow, I love this town! It’s organised and elegant without being a rigid grid. Lots of beautification details that feel organic but still metropolitan. Totally gonna steal the ovular house arrangement with the “H” in the middle.

Designs like this really emphasise how much we need diagonal walls, or just straight walls that you can place at any angle. Imagine if you could replace those blocky right-angle corner walls to follow the angle of the outer rim roads?

My question is, how the heck do you design and then grow towns like this? My towns always start so messy and after a certain point it feels impossible to re-arrange it. I can’t fathom how you wrangle a design like this into being.

So glad to see you loved my town design  ! Growing such a city is indeed a painstaking task. I think it must be approximately my tenth town before getting to such result.

For sure, diagonal walls would be Soooooooooo nice !!

To do this, at the very beginning of the world. I just pause the game for quite some time to plan what I am going to do (not in every details, but at least the main shape, knowing I must keep space for some 5x5 building in some central locations with nice places around it).

I focus on 1/4 of the city, knowing that the rest will be almost a copy of this first quarter. So At age I, I only build the first quarter and place industry according to my plan for late game. I works since each quarter is “self contained” regarding people needs. At the end of age II, I initiate the second quarter and so on.

The small inner wall with its tower around the city center is enough for the first hours of the game to handle the raids, the outer wall is built by the end of age III and doubled in age IV (when building the crops, I directly take into account that I shall double the wall, so yeah I spend hours counting squares).

Well I suppose there are many very different strategies but this is mine. I hope this helps  !

Can’t wait to see even more creations from the community in this topic
