Other than the other items dropped by the main bosses that have bonuses to skills in rogue dungeons, i think these two weapons that drop from the others should get some consideration in the future since they dont have any.
Im thinking about something related to fire cadence or skills that proc on default attacks like zolhan technique with flame touched as its support
Im thinking something related to blade trap/ABB or necrotic edge/reaping strike with veil of shadow or master of death as its support

please atleast dont’ take away shadow strike/NJE or + NB points or the proc if supporting BT/ABB then… - it’s a perfectly fine and thematically cool SS weapon, wouldn’t want that lost
Doesn’t have to be blade trap or ABB since those are my guesses if they decide to use those skills. i think shadow strike has potential and preferable for this
Shar’Zuls is a weird stick because it has base phys dmg with fire conversion that can’t even be entirely converted. It’s like old Blazerush in that regard. I like mixed dmg items and think it’s a shame that items/sets seem to be slowly converging towards single dmg types, but Shar’Zul has always looked so bad on paper that I’ve never seen a reason to farm it. I also don’t want to make an AA build that has to cast an AoE skill every 3s.

*on that note it seems like that’s what it’s “always” been used for too, as the primary endgame Fire FW stick, not that other things hasn’t been made with it i’m sure, but fire fw seemed like it was the predominant atleast

The item could include 50/50 if players dont really like full conversion on a skill, aura or skill proc.

It would be neat to give these items more than just their single niche, but I’m not sure that there’s room to do it.
Worldeater is already really good for fire forcewave, and all the other fire 2h commandos have Sunherald’s Claymore. Probably better off just buffing that base to help fire cadence/blade arc out… RR or -DA (not reduced, there’s already 3 sources of reduced DA on a Commando) on the proc would be the most direct solution to their problems.
If Shar’zul gets anything I think it should be targeted to Oathkeeper skills. Juice it for fire Warlord a bit, see if it can be viable on Shieldbreaker.
As for Soulrend… Reaper does feel like there’s a gap in cold 2H attacks, but you’d need to add so much to support it that I think the item would just be overloaded trying to appeal to both Shadow Strike/Bone Harvest (its current niche) and attack speed builds. At a minimum, you need either a default attack replacer or a WPS, probably slightly more flat damage to make up for not being dual wield on a class with so much flat and nightblade WPS, and while not strictly necessary it would look weird to not have attack speed. That’s enough changes to justify a whole new item.
If I had to suggest something for Soulrend I think it would also be a third class support… cold conversion, AoE, and frostburn for Primal Strike? DEE? CT? Who knows.

Primal Strike and CT both have cold conversion items, (and soulrend is/was even used in cold spam ct recently)
Cold DEE i legit don’t remember if it had an enabler?

Cold DEE would be unique, yeah. League has it, but nothing in an unmodded game. Slightly awkward since the other skills Soulrend supports are weapon damage scaling but you have that 30% left hand cast problem, which would feel even worse if you’re playing cooldown DE to use the CDR on it.
Not too worried about PS; conduit + Bane of the Winter King for spam PS trickster and conduit + Soulrend for cooldown PS trickster (or even ritualist? eh, maybe) could coexist.
CT’s a fair point, though, Harra set and that medal are already things.
I can see something related to the Berserker class if they go that route since it mainly has cold based skills
I love the idea of giving Worldeater some kind of bonus to Cadence or even its own WPS. Something like +4 target maximum to RF could be pretty cool too.
But I wonder if -10%/-15% fire RR on the weapon for Soldier is justifiable.
That would help the single RR pairing of soldier/demo and soldier/oath. If that breaks fire FW, you could always adjust that accordingly.
Typically a weapon will get a skill or skill mods, but not both. So that would mean axing the Shar’Zul’s Wrath skill which is great for a shotgun attack and has always been pretty much
! If you haven’t built around the skill or used it much, you probably haven’t seen it shotgun bosses/groups decently…
Dual Damage is pretty fun using this weapon and can be done, the only sad part is the Physical Damage portion gets reduced by Armor a decent bit (as with all meme Physical builds!).
You’re not alone in this! Sad to see the game headed in this direction since it’s a fairly large drop in build diversity overall. This change in direction has been one of the driving forces turning my attention away from GD over the past few months… and that’s saying something since I’ve been playing almost non-stop since the Alpha was first released!

No I dont want them to remove the active skill and I like the idea of giving worldeater support for cadence/rf more anyways.
If I remember correctly there was a discussion about melee two-hander builds struggling to get high WPS procs recently. Thats where the idea of a new WPS to Worldeater came from. I didnt take into consideration that Worldeater already has its own active skill…But would having both an active skill and a seperate WPS be a big nono?
Afaik it’s not possible because items can only have one granted skill in baseline.
