It would be great to include a GDP stat on the top-bar. GDP simply measures the value of goods produced during that year, and is expressed in both a Gold value, and a % growth vs last year (aka GDP growth). Clicking on this stat will bring up your GDP graph over time, which looks like the Population graph already in the UI.
This will help show you how quickly your town is growing and its economic prowess. And it would be cool to see!
Technical
GDP is the total value of goods produced, minus input goods. For example:
You buy 1 wheat, and then use that 1 wheat to produce 1 flower.
Price of wheat: 2 gold ingots
Price of Flour: 5 gold ingots.
5 minus 2 = 3 gold ingots of GDP
If you produce the wheat as well as the flour, then it is:
2 gold from wheat produced + 5 gold from the flour produced - 2 gold from the wheat consumed = 5 GDP
