Towns are getting pretty large when you reach maximum population.
To me it seems that houses take a too large area compared to fields and walking routes become too long.
As I have seen in the forum most players develop kind of layout for residential areas. So did I and it seems to make sense to optimize the tax income.
But for me it feels a little bit like work to copy the layout again and again as the game gives a solution to this but only for other buildings.
The game gives improvements to buildings at higher tier so you dont have to build too many more of the same building. Instead you improve them, like the sawmill.
Why not the same for residential houses?
A 2. and 3. floor for residential buildings at T4?
Could be more expensive but you have less area to protect and less walking routes.
I fear that my intention has been misunderstood.
To me the increase of living space in the houses through the existing tier system seems to small.
The idea has been to stack the residential houses with more floors so that the living space would incease significantly additionally to the tier system thats already present. Like a 2. floor on a T4 house doubles the living space of a T4 house.
But well I dont want to complain as the developers are facing so much at the moment and i really appreciate the work that has been done.
Maybe if other players see the large area thats consumed by residential houses as an unpleasent situation like me, tier 5 houses might provide a lot of more space than tier 4 does
It’s always possible. Large houses increase numbers by 1 and the same again for Mansions so they increase by 2 max from the original 4 people per shelter/homestead. What the 5th tier will bring we’ll have to wait and see.
