Just noticed because I hadn’t played one of these classes till now. I recall a moderately heated discussion about this a couple years ago. It appears this was quietly changed.
Yes, it was.
Yeah. And I still dislike the name Mystic no matter where you put it. And I’m – grumble — playing a Mystic. Curseborn, Ragebinder, Hexreaver, I dunno…
The whole discussion at the time was a giant bikeshed. I remember lurking through it. My problem was I just didn’t like the name. I admit, for pure irrational reasons.
Mystic kinda sound weak
And Reaver sounds too similar to Reaper
Guys, it is not that easy to come up with names describing 45 mastery combinations. The suitable words get low pretty easily ![]()
If game development was easy, everyone would be doing it. Not my problem ![]()
I can imagine a Kurn society where a Thane’s favorite insult is calling a Reaver a Reaper, and the other way around.
Better strong char with weak name than vice versa!
I dunno. Can’t get any worse than Trickster. If I ever build one, I’ll be ashamed just talking to NPCs.
@marfig
More seriously - is there any trouble to create a good / great trickster?
My understanding is it’s a strong class, regardless of which primary you take. And there are a few HC builds, which is always a good sign. But I’m not a specialist, by far. And never attempted one.
@marfig
I dropped one Trickster (cold one). The Trickster was reworked as Cold Reaver.
Funny. I am theory crafting a Mystic atm. I want to see a werewolf using the Soiled trousers. I was just going through the Devotions and wondered if I was too damage heavy since I don’t have Soldier or Oathkeeper as a second class. Who knows, maybe I’ll end up scrapping the Mystic for a Zealot.
I’m glad for it. I think it was the right decision.
