SPOILER ALERT: Lore Discussion

Yeah, that is one of my big disappointments with this game - the few I have, really, as this is a great game - that we cannot get a two-handed cannon type weapon, or a spell that gives us a stationary gatling gun summon. I mean we got cannons, grenades, mortars, and armored cars… surely the Black Legion got some of them they could give us to use.

That’s exactly what I was thinking about while playing as Demolitionist for the first time (also playing the game for the first time back then). While rifles and handguns did feel good, I’ve always felt that using a portable two-handed cannon or some kind of automatic weapon would be absolutely awesome and would fit into the setting of the game. A shame, that we don’t have anything like that yet. Maybe, this’ll be an option in the second entry. If it ever comes out.

Ah you mean Grim Dawn 2? Mind you, it would stretch imagination a bit on how a demolitionist (who works with alchemically created gunpowder and mechanical tools mostly) can create a giant turret out of thin air, but… I guess we can say they are Arcanist-enchanted weapons. I could see them being made available as a summon created via a Relic or an item, though.

From the steam from last friday:

are we gonna meet the girl on AoM screen or what?
Yes, yes you will. Her name is Byscella and you’ll meet her in the Conclave of the Three.

It’s intriguing that she features on the AoM expansion screen and thatr makes me wonder why.

Also the image for the Korvaak constellation is finally revealed

Well that is interesting! Given the aether glow in her eyes, I assumed she was an Aetherial… Then again we have seen witches like Larria who use aether.

Well, we already knew we were going to find out more about her back in April.

“Will we learn about the Ashes of Malmouth screen loading girl in Forgotten Gods?
You will. You actually will. We were teasing this a while ago, but we’re serious. We’re not just screwing with you.”

Yeah I knew we would meet her some time ago.

From the Korvaak constellation, his eyes seem to have different expressions/emotions.

Probably depends on his mood.

We now know where Forgoten Gods takes place on the worldmap.

That makes me wonder where Uroboruuk was going, since he was going northeast of Burrwitch to East March.

i don’t get it either. Initially I thought FG will continue from the marsh

From 4th May:
“coyotek :can show where will be entry to the Forgotten Gods content?
Zantai_GD :the entry to the forgotten gods content is…everywhere ;)”

From 25th May:
“So how we will get there? is there will be a portal somwhere on the map?
Well, there isn’t a portal on the map yet. But yes, there will be a portal.”

Maybe the portal spawns in random areas. That would be kinda .

didn’t he say it’s from act 2 or pretty close to devil’s crossing?

He just said it’s available after you kill Warden Kreig.

“So what we actually have here is the quest hub you’ll be entering for the Forgotten Gods expansion. Pretty early on in the game if you’d like - because the pre-requisite for those who don’t know already is to clear Act 1, to defeat Warden Kreig and then you’ll have access to this quest line - if you’d like or you can keep going through the main campaign, on to Ashes of Malmouth and the next difficulty. You do not need to complete Forgotten Gods to access the next difficulty, like Ashes of Malmouth.”

Doesn’t mean there won’t be some quest or info to send you elsewhere in the main game to access the portal to get there in the same way Inquisitor Creed sends you back to DC/Burrwitch Village to gain access to AoM. So we could have to go into East March to access it.

Yeah, my linear thinking didn’t go this far…

Never think linear - it’s likely to get you killed in this game. Our sneaky devs certainly don’t think like that.

linear is how I play, I see the thingy, and I attack it, and move on to the next thingy:rolleyes:

Isn’t East March to high level range when going to the warden?

Can’t be accessed in Act 1 since you need dynamite to blow up the bridge before you repair it. Can only get that in Act 2 on. So unless they add dynamite to the DC blacksmith that would sorta rule East March. Or have a new quest where you’re given some same as Inqusitor Creed gives you items to break the barrier for AoM access. That would work.

On the map there’s a temple called “Temple of Osyr” at least i think can’t seem to see it correct due quality of the image. Allready wondering about the lore of that person. :p:D

Been fiddling with my images of the map in Paint and Elements 11, but it’s still difficult to make out even with a magnifying glass. I think it’s the following location names:

Conclave of the Three
Korvan Plateau
Temple of Osyr
Korvan Sands
Bomstach Basin?
Caban Docks - or might be Caiban Docks?
Sunbane Oasis

Will see if hubby can work some Photoshop magic on it when he gets home tonight.
