I planted my base right next to a mountain in Lowland Lakes but mid to late game had trouble accumulating stone without trading for it. I feel not only should iron ore be very available when you’re next to a mountain but stone as well. There should actually be a stone node similar to iron ore nodes where you can build a camp/quarry on it and regularly harvest until fully consumed–perhaps this can only be found on/near mountains. Having stones only harvested like trees seems a bit off and makes stone a lot more rarer than I feel it should be. In the same token, Mountains seem to have a extremely large supply of iron at the moment so some stone nodes in there would help balance it.

I can concur there. But if on the mountain, make a specific area that will do that specific item. And possibly add a ‘deeper’ option to get the deeper minerals at the expense of ground stability. The stability reducing the % of desired. I mean, if you dig a mine into the hill side, who wants to live over it… likewise, if digging a pit, look at the possibility of landslides.
