I suggest content that really needs to be updated.
Finding the quest path
It is too difficult to do quests in a huge map.
Please patch it to make quests easier or find the path.
Previewing the job selection
There are many jobs and you can enjoy various builds.
In the first job selection, I would like to check the simple skill implementation or main weapon through the preview function before choosing, such as what skills the Shaman uses, what skills the Soldier uses, and what professional skills each job uses.
Expanding the public warehouse storage
I enjoy the original game.
It can be expanded through mods, but I want to feel the original fun.
In order to enjoy the fun of collecting various items with numerous options,
Please allow me to continuously expand the public warehouse by purchasing from the existing 6 tabs.
The current warehouse is too small and narrow, so if you do not use the character’s personal warehouse, you have to create a warehouse character.
Cloud Save Error
If you do not use cloud save, the save file saved on the local drive is recognized, but even if the save file exists normally, the cloud is not uploaded properly, so the character list does not appear on the in-game waiting screen. There are many problems with the cloud save method, and I want to use a cloud service rather than a local one. If you have a backup copy of the save file, please take action so that it can be uploaded normally to the Steam Cloud service.
In-game Korean (Native Language) Chat
You can select multiple native languages in the game.
However, Korean cannot be used in the chat.
If you write Korean in Notepad and copy and paste it, it will be printed.
In-game chat also allows input in the native language of each country.
Currently, only English can be used in direct chat.
While yes, it is objectively difficult to find the quest path on your first playthrough, if that’s a bad thing or not is subjective. Personally, I really appreciate that I’m forced to explore the world and then as you get close to the objective a Star appears in the mini-map to indicate “hey, something important is here.”
While you can’t test the skills, you can select the Mastery and read all the skills before clicking “Undo Class” in the top right. It only locks you in once you’ve spent points and closed the window.
They’ve already said that the in-game storage isn’t getting expanded further. Using mods/external programs is your only option as they work well and even Zantai uses it IIRC.
So, Cloud Saves are a bit janky but what you can do is go into the settings, click the network option, and download cloud saves. This will overwrite the saves on your local machine. You can then delete cloud saves, and then when you go back to the main menu it will ask if you’d like to upload your local saves to the cloud. This fixes any issues I might have with syncing between my machine and the cloud.
Completely agree that more languages should be supported.
remember, cloud is a Steam feature, as such some things has to be a certain way from Steam’s instructions, and devs don’t have influence over eveything like example the 50 char limit
*chars not appearing in menu would suggest a mismatch between your save locations, which might means not being aware of what “cloud”/save locations refer to
Cloud setting ingame dictates where game physically saves to your computer, cloud box on ingame = game saves to steam folder, cloud box off = game saves to documents folder
Your active player chars has to match that save location, you can’t just turn cloud on off and chars will appear; because they are physically stored on a specific place on your computer and you will have to move them to match
*and you can only from documents folder saves to steam folder saves with the ingame function
Just to clarify, this doesn’t actually touch “cloud”
Grim Dawn saves to two locations on your HDD; depending on the ingame setting for cloud on/off
ingame cloud on = game saves to steam folder
ingame cloud off = game saves to documents folder
using the network option to “download” cloud merely equates to moving saves from the steam folder to the documents folder, and deleting cloud doesn’t actually delete cloud just the saves in the steam save folder
It’s very important to remember to actually use the steam cloud storage/backup/“sync” functionality cloud has to be on in both steam settings and ingame.
To then also proper store/“upload” a char to cloud the data must have been recently touched - if you transfer 50 chars from documents to steam folder (must be done with ingame function/can’t be done manually copy paste), then you must open the game with the cloud setting active(requires restart after switch) and load each char into the world before exiting, and then steam will sync it proper
*Steam will only ever sync saves from the steam save folder, hence why the cloud box ingame needs to be on/is there (and ofc cloud on in steam settings too)
Keep in mind, if you do this transfer method of using local saves/cloud off and game saves to documents folder and you transfer them to steam folder for cloud backup, it’s easy to bust the 50 char limit, which can get wonky sometimes, as such it can be best to use a different cloud service if one wants cloud backups.
