What about the introduction of slavery? slaves as labor force. There are restrictions such as not being able to have entertainment or family, not being able to have weapons.
In this era, a shrewd merchant would come to a developed village to sell slaves as a labor force. Conversely, there should have been some villagers who were sold into slavery because of the loss of money.
Modern values deny slavery, but I am convinced that the values of this era will make it more complicated and enjoyable as a game.
Finally, thank you for reading my poor English. There may have been some things that didn’t make sense. I read the translation.
Maybe you should be able to capture raiders instead of killing them, and have them do forced labor as repayment for their crimes. You would need to add a jail building with a Gaoler profession, and have the gaoler move out the captured raiders/slaves to the fields where they work.
Also, if slavery were introduced, you could also introduce slave raids, where raiders don’t target your storehouses to steal goods when attacking, but instead target homes to steal villagers (most likely children) and sell them into slavery.
I see. The attacker’s objective increases and it becomes troublesome.
People outside the village may also be kidnapped. As a game, it’s a difficult choice as to how hard it should be.
It is indeed, and I’ll have none of it. If the idea is ever considered, please have a toggle where those of us who find the idea too distasteful can choose NOT to have it – even if it is historically accurate (but even in past historical eras where slavery was practiced, there were those who railed against it)
