The Carnival - A Guide to Pets

On Cally the trick is to let your pets hit once or twice, then run far enough so that your pets teleport to you and then attack again. That gives time for your bleed DoTs to tick and pets stay alive longer.

For Crate, without devo procs you will do less dmg = more Crates spawn anyways = back to square 1.
Instead just do what I did in the handy Screenshot in the OP. If you can’t get the timing right to get past the Crates, use Aether Clusters. Other than that, just kite them and don’t get hit by his Meteor Shower.

Btw see if this helps: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/RVvxMpvN

Took out Falcon Swoop. Pets also gain 4% AdctH.

My problem is health regeneration on Callagadra, if i run long enough, the damage done is regenerated and it all starts over.

On Crate i simply cannot do anything even with updated setup, bad piloting, obviously.
Thanks for your assistsance, perhaps those two will remain unconquered, which is a pity.

You don’t run that long :stuck_out_tongue:

Btw, trying out an updated version of Lupus with max Hellhound (yes, Doggo). Will let you know how it goes.

https://www.grimtools.com/calc/d2j3E6jV Maya, did you try something similar? The idea is to make Briarthorns do Cold damage + take the relevant devotions (Amatok + Leviathan + Mogdrogen). What do you think?
1 point is missing to get 4th orb for Raven but it seems Mythical Voidmancer Cord will be worse than +1 to Occultist.

Better to do it as Elemental or Lightning instead as Chillmane, PS & Hound will still do Physical dmg that won’t get converted and go to waste. Sigatrev’s [1.1.2.5] Elemental Beastcaller's Conjurer for example would fare much better.

Right, if only Bysmiel Grasp could convert all physical damage to cold for pets, guess it’s pointless to ask for this change as it’s not going to happen.

is the will O wisp build better than the fluffy squishy in terms of offense and killing speed?

Nope. It was once, but not anymore.

So… anyone want to give this a try?

I am too scared to pilot it…

Thumbs up for the ‘novel’. It’s fun to read as new player  Hit level 30+ yesterday on my occultist and still thinking wether I take necro or shaman as second class…

One thing: may I ask you for a new wetransfer link? I’d like to read it offline on my phone, but have the 403-problem like others and the last wetransfer link in this thread expired.

First things first, welcome to the forums

Now, also ty for reminding me about the guide, I needed to update some GT links :stuck_out_tongue:

As for the Wet-ransfer link, ask’eth and’eth you’eth shall’eth receive’eth: https://we.tl/t-NOeSSgkNQB

Ok, so did a small experiment to see how effective a Pet build is without a full set.

First the build: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/r2BWw3KV

I wanted to avoid using item based pets and went with Hellhound instead of including Primal Spirit. Also, Conjurer instead of Cabalist. So no 3x blightfiends or Reap Spirits.

Now the result which I would say is pretty good:

(The above is basically Fluffy Squishy with Familiar conduit instead of full Trinkets. So doesn’t really warrant a dedicated thread.)

Hey Maya since you love to play crazy pet build concepts, can you make combo Beastcaller+Invoker set work? Assuming - RR proc works well.

Like elemental Conjurer or Warlock

Ask and you shall receive: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/RVv7lYjZ (Beastcaller + Invoker Conjurer)

That said, proc on Crit means it would be less useful than otherwise could have been :frowning:
