personally would love to give every house a 2x band around it for decorations and fences etc to make it feel and look nicer. this would of course require many more markets to be worked.
i am punished hard for any decision that doesnt include taking up the absolute smallest footprint possible. i get it, its a stdonghold production chain game
with all the cool decorations and great graphics just feels a shame. would love to have the option to make the market etc effect a larger area so i could build a really good looking city that isnt a block of 1 building type
The Upgraded Market already has a larger radius with it, but I agree: would be nice to, perhaps, have another Market Upgrade at, say, Tier 5 that would allow a âlooserâ approach to residential placement.
That would also, parenthetically, give scope for another set of Decorations or Upgraded Decorations in the game . . .
The idea that you should have as few markets as possible serving as many houses as possible is just an idea, itâs not built into the game. It certainly isnât necessary to follow, and arguably itâs not even a good strategy.
While it is natural to think âhow many houses can I cram into this market zone?â the better question is actually âhow many houses can a market effectively supply?â
The lower game difficulties drastically reduce the need for min/maxing and allow you to grow a settlement much more organically. If you prefer a âbeauty buildingâ approach Iâd make good use of 'em.
