Maybe this can jsut be me being confused by how damage conversion work, but all i was able to read online indicate that the conversion is not applied to certain skills, or at the very least, not getting applied to grasping vines. when testing and checking my skills themselves, the numbers i’m seeing correspond to nothing that match my bonus, and especially not a 100+% phys to lightning i currently have. Flat physical bonus from other skills are converted fine, it’s only those skills not matching
Wight Lord’s Helm has the 100% Physical Damage converted to Lightning Damage modifier specifically tied to the Field Command buff from Soldier. If you are not a Warder (Soldier+Shaman) or are not using Field Command, the conversion will not apply to your skills.
If the conversion was listed in the base item then it would apply to any Physical Damage your character may have just from equipping this item.
ther eis basicly nothing related to the vines on it, i jsut use them for the cc and proccing arcane bomb (genuinly worth the point). I’m not using it for damage but seeing the wierd stats on my end made me wonder if other bonus could not be affected, like blindside. Mind you tho, maybe it’s me just not having the gift for understanding the game’s obscure mechanics XD
it’s a warder, and using field command. I’m even specificly using that helmet BECAUSE of how that opens so many things it’s jsut that i noticed some potential mismatch. Like, ingame the damage on grasping is 117 at rest while it should be something like 60 since conversions aren’T aplied to the preview
what gijw might be alluding to: the skill in the mastery window or skill bar will show physical damage. put vines on rmb and check the 2nd character tab, there it should show no phys damage but lightning instead. ui issue.
those ascention have been helped by the stash tbh, the build is so close to be fully ascendant viable, i needed to see if it was jsut a question of modifiers. the answer is sadly that it needs like ONE item that support it to be able to clear the dread under 12 minutes. fingers crossed on the next batch of awakened epic
as for the test, it was some rough testing on dummies, but the more i look into the math the more i’m wondering if I might have just miscalculated due to entangling
ok, it converts, i was just being a bit stupid and completly forgot that we have that damage per hit bit on the second window, thanks to years of never looking at it
An easy way to verify what damage your skills are doing besides checking the second tab is to use DPYes which will tell you what damage you are doing both in numbers and in type.
It’s handy for seeing how conversions work and such.
