That is very good to hear!! I’m still learning so it’s hard for me to judge the extent of nerfs in this game. I will carry on with Fluffy’s Vengeance as my goal
Oh, and thanks for the awesome beginners section, it helped a bunch!

Np, and glad to help
well build was fun while it lasted for 2 weeks. RIP double birbs :undecided:
Also i suspect Zantai is a Petcist
Is there some info about the buffs?
Fluffy’s Vengeance tears through both Crucible and Shattered Realms btw (OP has been updated)
It is a bit slow, but it works!
Amen!
Well, by Buff what I meant was that the only real threat to that build; The SuperBoss known as Callagadra, Scion of Sands is getting nerfed. So it is kind of an indirect buff.

Damn.
Wasted nearly 15+ hours leveling up and farming.
One should learn to not touch shit that looks fun in this game.
Do you have the Full BeastCaller’s set? If so, switch to Fluffy’s Vengeance.
In the entire game there are only 2 things that can give you trouble: Callagadra and the Crate of Entertainment.
Just wanna give some Feedback from updated Build
Damn even tho i now got a little Army running around me i feel clearing/killing huge HP Bosses really slowed down and the lack of AoE Dmg is really noticable when fighting Huge Packs of Trash.
Also Raven seems to be made out of Paper now first Pet to go down in like every huge Fight. And even with Dirge of Arkovia Pets ripping every so often in Endgame content.
That was the Huge thing i liked about the Bysmiel Set even tho my Pets were dying left and right you still had the Birbs doing Damage so you didnt feel powerless while waiting to resummon.
Sad to say but i guess i will rest my Conjurer for now until Zantai takes a Vacation.
Unfortunately all the things you said are true. FG atm is not nice to pets
Trinkets builds can still do sub-7 minute gladiator and SR-75.
Beastcaller’s builds can still do sub-7 minute gladiator and SR-75.
Ghol builds can do sub-7 minute gladiator and SR-75.
I’m not sure why anyone would think the sky is falling.
FG’s SuperBosses
The sky is falling against superbosses. Not Crucible or SR.
hello,
not sure if its too early to ask but can i do SR50/gladiator with the fluffy maiden build after the “nerfs”?thanks
Yes, you should be able to, especially given how it uses BeastCaller’s set for double Briarthorns. The nerf mostly affects double Familiar builds.
Hello Maya,
I try to play your build from the Beginner and budget variant. My Question is: the raven feel a bit slow when it comes to many and respawning targets. (Maxed Raven und no other pets yet but Hellhound lvl 1). I have mixed feelings about the endgame clearspeed compared to some other builds ( played a Ravenous Earth Cabalist to 64).
Will his clearspeed be faster if i level further with better gear etc. I have to say that i have no real epic/legendary gear for my Pet Conjurer… but i think that will not be a real problem.
So … should i get the Briarthorn ASAP ? … and of course the Primal Spirit later.
Will my clearspeed be better later than now on level ~30 ?
Because i never played pet buildd in Grim Dawn and have no clue how pet builds and their clearspeed is comparable to other build
Sorry to bother you with this stupid question
Yes, get the Briarthorn. It should help for now.
Other option is to stick with Occultist all the way and then move on to Shaman, but that might be a bit harder route if you are not used to pets.
Endgame though, you will melt everything except for SuperBosses. It just requires the items and devotions to do that. Since you will lack both early on, damage won’t seem that good.
And there are no stupid questions. Always feel free to ask if you have any doubts or concerns
Awesome! Thank you so much, Maya
You don’t have anything bound to the Cleansing waters devotion proc in your fluffy’s vengeance build, is that by design just to get more “points” to spend in later nodes?
It’s by design because there aren’t any available class skills to bind it to after the other skills, but it does work with the glyph/rune skills, so you can bind it to that.
I did as you suggested and bound it to my briarthorn and found I was killing a little slower. I thought it might have been in my head so I turned on damage metres and tested this on a target dummy.
According to the damage metres, I have a lot more dps with it bound to curse of frailty over a pet. I tested it a bunch. It just has way more uptime which leads to more damage.
I’m not 100 yet with a full set of max gear which may be affecting the results.
I could clearly be wrong as I’m brand new here but all the tests that I can carry out seem to point to pets not proccing it anywhere near as fast as a player can with CoF.
If a max level character with said gear could take 2 minutes and test this and report back some damage numbers, I’d appreciate it.
Related to the above I did some more testing to try and compare the pets themselves to see which was the best one to put Elemental storm on.
The briarthorn seems to be the next weakest pet to put it on. His attack speed is the lowest so you can often go 5-6 seconds without any elemental storm proccing. Sometimes longer. His AoE ground slam attack helps matters as it hits multiple targets but ultimately the spell has huge amounts of downtime. Og’Napesh has the same issue. He simply hits too slowly.
The next best pet is the Primal Spirit. He attacks very quickly, which leads to plenty of uptime of Elemental Storm. The downside being that he isn’t permanent. He lasts for 20 seconds with a 30 second cooldown so there will be periods where you will have no storm at all. If you can get that cooldown lowered with gear (which I believe you can) then he might be a decent choice.
The hellhound seems to be a better choice overall however as he has a fast attack, AoE, and is up all the time. His lack of survivability at endgame might be an issue however.
It would appear that best pet to put it on, if you have it, is the Blighted scourge pet that comes from the Blightshard amulet. He appears to have the fastest attack of the pets I have tested and he ranged attacks in groups of three, incredibly quickly. This leads to 100% uptime of the spell.
From what I tested, the storm itself does the same amount of damage regardless of which pet it was on.
My numbers still indicate that putting elemental storm on Curse of Frailty leads to between 80-120% more damage compared to a pet.
