The Fluffy Squishy - Pet Conjurer :3

Haven’t really tried it myself. But if you have say for example, something that gives extra pet HP without adding skillpoints to the pet, can always test it by equipping the item, summoning the pet, removing the item and see if the HP remains the same as before.

That said…

Are you playing on Veteran?
If so, pets dying is normal and you will need to take a slow and steady approach while farming up items every now and then.

Honestly, I’ve gotten into the habit of re-summoning pets after any skill point, equipment or devotion changes just to be safe. Whether the game snapshots or whether it’s even needed or not, I’m not sure.

Just like Yarik, I don’t have any concrete proof on whether it affects anything. In my case, I just do it out of habit for my own peace of mind.

Finally managed a kill with your third build. (I have a video of it, if anyone wants it. Just let me know and I’ll link it)

Here are some of the notes I took while testing your builds, just in case this will help with theorycrafting.

Thank you again for letting me test your builds!

Summary

Defense vs uber beaver (No pots, no healing potions)
->Fluffy squishy, dreeg eye build 1, no birb build 3 (ie firewood):

  1. Auto attacks: fluffy takes about 10% chunk damage, 2nd and 3rd build take about 20-40-ish

  2. Double swipe: fluffy survived it once but I can’t remember if I potion’d or not, sorry. it was definitely a 2-shot kill on the other builds

  3. Fire beam fan: 1hitKO on all 3 builds.

  4. Toxic spit: with dreeg blood, all 3 builds can survive the first two hits, the 3rd hit always kills.

  5. tidal Waves: usually a 1hitKO, but the dreeg eye build actually survived 1 hit once. Not sure if I potion’d or not. sorry

  6. multi projectile rain: 1hitKO if not at full HP, otherwise fluffy has survived a hit.

  7. beaver meteor + resulting blood splat: this one is… weird.

All three builds have survived a direct hit, other times they get 1-hit misted.

Fluffy even survived the stun + full dot duration while the pets distracted the boss. dreeg eye build was at half HP + almost melted to dot. third build(firewood) took the most damage and was near death, but they still barely survived the initial hit??

I’m not sure why it’s inconsistent. I was literally just standing there waiting for the meteor, lol

So, yeah. not sure about this one, or why they would survive it occasionally at full health, while other times it’d be an instant death. Maybe the boss had used a buff on himself and I didn’t notice?

I wasn’t using elixirs, oils, or any heal potions after the hit.
Might also have something to do with the food bar being full? no idea about this one.

TL;DR: stay away/behind the boss at all times, and try to stay away from the arena edges (or pray the waves don’t spawn on you there.) Keep moving for the meteor or bait it to an edge and use the dash to dodge it.
→ also: get the pets out of the blood pools (by turning your character away from boss and pet attack spamming) ASAP. don’t have to run far enough away to get them to move out of the bad. (wish I’d figured this out sooner lmao. makes positioning so much easier)

DPS vs uber beaver

  1. Fluffy: boss outhealed the damage even with dranghoul + with me spamming pet attack to get them out of the bloodpools ASAP.

  2. Dreeg eye: with dranghoul: My best attempt got him about half health, so it’s probably doable. Someone better than me with better reflexes and aiming skills would need to test. I am terrible at aiming the line AOE attacks/dodging waves, lol

  3. build 3 (firewood): can kill him in 5-ish minutes, provided he doesn’t spam blood pools too much. I used dranghoul and vilestar ointment. coupled with the 1.3.05’s uber beaver HP change. (thank you devs!)

A better pilot than me could probably shave the time down even further.

sorry is the mark of illusion correct for the rings? just realised ned to remove my bloodied crystal component :stuck_out_tongue:

Mark is for better energy regen. If you are doing fine with energy management, no need to change the components :yum:.

(I was going for maximum lazy mode where you can spam everything if you wanted to)

So just how much worse is the build without totem/frailty? I’ve been messing with the passive ritualist and loving having zero skills <3 but the skellies are so squishy it’s almost a spam build anyway. I’m fine not killing things like the new super uber boss obviously. I’ve been on a mission to find the most passive builds I can (handicapped hands), but most of them require a ton of leveling with active skills so it kind of defeats the purpose.

Against Superbosses, even the old ones, it will be painful since you will both lack damage and also survivability.

Against everything else, should be fine.

Makes sense. Do any of the superbosses actually drop anything this build needs? If not, I’m totally ok just ignoring them. Could always try to find another build also that could handle them while being super passive, but I do like pets <3

Mogdrogen does - the Shoulder from the basegame one in the Asterkarn Valley and the Helmet from the FoA Mogdrogen.

Every other superboss can be ignored.

Oh. Well…guess I can give them a try eventually =/

Hey Maya, I’ve been using an outdated version of this build of yours, the one with Stormbringer of Malmouth and devotion with Staff of Rattosh but slightly changed to make use of the new Modgrogen helmet from FoA and I just have to say even on Ascendant difficulty, this build just stomps through everything and dual birbs are possibly one of my favorite builds in this game.

Just wanted to say thanks. ^^

Maya!!! I noticed your devotion leveling/usage is different than you’re endgame grimtools link. When should I consider converting to the endgame selection?

Try to get the full Bysmiel’s Trinkets set at the minimum before switching over, because the damage will be too low otherwise

So I noticed your super lazy no skill version still has the constellation points in the dryad tree, despite not being able to use the dryad blessing (I don’t know the exact name, sorry, and the site is on maint. mode lol). Would you still consider the dryad constellation useful despite not taking the blessing at the end or would you maybe move those points somewhere else?

I had forgotten to change it .

Thanks for letting me know. Link updated .
