Seriously? That is the best candidate they can create to be Tony Stark’s successor?
I don’t know her backstory, but stark is just a billionaire with some brains, if she has the brains (like Amadeus cho) then I don’t see why not. I mean the article you linked says she’s studying at MIT (at 15 no less), and already built her own suit. They made Thor a woman, the gave caps shield and title to falcon, and cho is the hulk in the new series so… Again why not?

Seriously though, i wish that if big companies wanted to be diverse they should make up new ideas for stuff like this. I mean there is nothing wrong with it but

When it comes to a female Iron Man I can understand why people wouldn’t like it. When it comes to something like Ghostbusters, I’d say to chill with the women, though overall I do think that in cases like that it should be an all-female cast because they were the best choices as opposed to striving for women. Just my two cents there.

I agree with what you are saying there, it is Iron MAN after all. But yeah the Ghostbusters thing doesn’t bother me at all. I know some people were going crazy because of the all female leads. Doesn’t look like the best movie imo but i have no problem with the casting choices.

Just all part and parcel of the new wave of feminism combined with tactics to 1) Lure in and relate to today’s youth and apparently to 2) tap the new geek gamer girl demographic of the brand new era we live in. 3) Witness capitalism at work. The money is still where it’s always been. The teenage population. Want to make money, then reinforce and bolster the fads they are into.
By all means, make 'em frown lest society forgets what it feels like to have its feelings hurt. At this rate if China can just sit patiently for about 50 years before they invade the world all they have to do is call us fat and give us a bucket of ice cream and it’s all for the taking while everyone wallows in this mysterious thing called depression.

I think she is a bit on the young side. There is a problem with Hollywood and the Oscars in general, when it comes to black people. You don’t see a lot of them winning many awards, if hardly ever. I’m sure there will be people cheering her on, but if we see the wider picture, there been at least several black people shot by cops very recently, (in different cities) Sure the US has a black president, but there is still a lot of racist attitude in the US.
The real issue is, lets say she is good in the film, what is her chance of getting any kind of reward? I say doubtful or very remote.
Then again, why not choose someone who is a bit older? The problem is, I personally feel that a lot of young US actors simply can’t act, they just don’t have the skill. While young actors from else where, usually have more skill.
I just we will have to see how she does, but in all honestly, she is probably been miscast, and this also seems to be happening a lot in US films in general.
I hope she does well, but on the other hand, who knows, I lost interest in the Iron Man films a while back, then again, I’m not that keen on many recent comic book films these days.
Well there is the end of my rant.
There is a lot of - ism’s going on everywhere. Not just the US. The good thing about the cellphone age is now it’s easier than ever to catch the various people (especially “authority”) who are doing it.
Fine with me. I was raised not to trust cops. Now maybe the half of society that thinks they do no wrong can feast on an eyeful of “justice” in action.

Well I take some issue with your “stats” there. (And I hope you can discuss this openly without becoming angry and emotional).
Black people comprise approximately 13 to 15% of our (US) population, depending on the poll/sensus you follow.
…Please tell me what % of oscars and grammies should be won by black actors in that case? Are those 15% of black folks really beating the pants off of all the other white actors so much that the awards should go to 50% black and 50% white folks, but that nameless faceless racist “evil” scenario is preventing that from happening, even though there is such a vastly, comparatively smaller number of black actors versus white? Should white actors get a racial “handicap” on the votes by the judges on who wins an award for their performances, because they are white and cuz racism?
Please tell me, from this racist terrible country, from all these powerful white folks who are trying to suppress people in Hollywood…please explain to me why the Help won so many awards and why actors from that movie won so many awards.
Please educate me on why this:

While you are at it, please explain to me, why with only 13 to 15% of the population, the % of black football players stays between 60 and 70% of the total, and approximately 85 to 90% of all basketball players as well, even though…as said before…15% of the population? Are white people simply bad at basketball and football? Just curious. Please explain to me why black basketball players make vast sums of money more than every single white basketball player.
Since we are on the subject…i wonder what % of comic book purchasers, fans and readers are actually broken down by racial groupings? I wonder if, maybe, comic books have traditionally just been targeted towards the vast majority of people who buy them (as well as who primarily makes them in the first place based off of their own creativity) and not some nameless faceless evil racist bigoted agenda.
