Tips to kill Gravathul?

This is one nemesis that I have not been able to kill. Not by kiting, not by facetanking. His red balls of doom destroyed every build I made in 1-2 hits. What does it take to kill this bastard?

Post your build using grimtools.com.

Keep aware that he can remove your buffs, so you need to reactivate them. When raises his arms than he will try to remove your buffs. He also have a aura that will lower your health. You can remove his aura with cleansing waters or nullify.

I have tried to hunt Grava with this Cold Korba Trickster, also with Primal Strike Warder, and Aether Krieg’s Battlemage. They are all my take (based on items I have) of builds posted in the forum.

Grava’Thul, the Voiddrinker

  1. Dont’ try to facetanking him, run when he raise his hands
He will use skills that will remove your buffs + mana burns (even Mirror of Ereoctes)
  1. Don’t stand in his Chaos Pools, it can fumble your attacks, move your character agak geser dikit

  2. Make your Chaos resist around 30% or 40% over maximum --> Black Tallow will help

  3. Blitz, Shadow Strike, Chaos Strike, Blazing Charge, or any other Blink Skills will help you when fighting Grava

Here some videos when fighting Grava :

Hope those little tips can help you

I know it’s off-topic and i’m just kinda bitching about semantics but what “other Blink Skills” you thought about other than the ones you mentioned by name?

#nooffense

Here was my take on Grava: https://youtu.be/eOJim315SJg

Did I already mention it all? :stuck_out_tongue:
Perhaps any other Blink Skills later if Crate wants to add them

(So currently we only have 4 Blink skills)

I took a peek at the thread you mentioned, and I was HAPPY. Happy that even the veterans are complaining about Grava. Yaay. If even veterans with their lightning fast reflexes are complaining, who am I to have the slightest chance against Grava? I think I will stick at farming Ben and Moo for now.

That is amazing! May I see your build, dear sir?

Something like this: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/4ZDWqr1V

Currently using dying god constellation with hungering void instead of spear.

But do pay attention when you use these, I once died mid-blitz to the orbs. Hilarious but not very effective

That’s very nice! I don’t have the full Markovian set atm. But I definitely will try your build once I do. Thanks.

Blink skills is usefull when fighting Grava since Grava can reduce your movement speed
You can blink to other mobs when he cast the nullification orbs, and then blink again to him when you success avoiding that skills
With this you can save time until his next cast

If there’s no mobs around, it still useful when blink back to him after avoiding nullification orbs

Sure we have to be carefull not to mid-blitz to the orbs

Except your toon is Markovian Void Drinker like Mauricius Build
You can eat that Nullification orbs and reactivate the buffs

*Side Note :
Reactivate the Buffs will be inconvenient if you have Animation Delay Buff in your Build, like Might of Beronath, Possession
These skills will make activation of other skills delay or even cancelled
I mean there’s a chance that you already press all buff buttons, but they are not activated all
Some buffs will remain inactivate

Bleeding warder worked for me. blitz to approach, then blade arc, vines, devouring swarm, rince repeat. Out of 3 of my maxed buiklds only the warder was able to do it.

Here is my lightning ultos 2H warder build fully face tanking Grava’Thul the voiddrinker through his nullification ability the whole time. World’s first?
No pots : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1_WFqfElRM&t=3s

The same build face tanking reaper of the lost with too. No pots: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4J6pNtVT2f4

My thread dedicated to the reaper of the lost nemesis along with the 2H warder build can be found here: http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67544

World first with a 2h probably but not compared to 1h + shield

Nice. I have a warder with Ultos set (except the 2 hander), I would like to try this setup. I see that it is super defensive, I have never tried using such setup before (am partial to offensive play style).

Ultos is nice for the huge AoE bonus from having the complete set. It’s the reason why I chose that set and also because of the nice 6% OA bonus you get from it too. I always enjoyed face tanking hard bosses but got tired of using shield builds to do it because it would take ages for me to kill them lol

I’m also glad to see other people have problems. I just faced him for the first time, he one shotted me several times in a row. Good think I have a desktop computer, a laptop would have gone flying. It’s frustrating because I haven’t beaten the game yet, so still on normal level, 7500 HP shouldn’t be gone in one hit. :furious:

So other than blink spells (which I don’t have) and getting chaos resistance insanely above the cap (ha!), there’s really no other way to kill him?

Already Nemesis with the Chtonians on Normal? Wah? Takes me minimum end of Elite to reach Nemesis with them and i do everything.

Pretty much the only dangerous thing about him is the nullification projectile. He puffs his chest and does a stance that is the same as a Dragon Ball character powering up, that’s when he uses it. Back off at that moment and make the nullification projectile collide with anything nearby by luring it, because it homes on you.

People have bitched about it, i have bitched about it but the devs seem determined for him to be this way.
