TitanQuest.net Site

Yea something like that. I thought i had a copy of it somewhere, but cant find any at the moment. I ll keep searching.

So are there any other English-accepting sites analogous to TQ.net to get build feedback and the like? And has anyone poked Nordic about the idea of taking over the site, since it’s their property now?
Also I hope that the 1.20 patch gets opened up beyond Steam, because I have a physical copy of the game and I don’t have a Steam account.

.net was truly the premier. If you search Titan Quest Forums you’ll find a couple, but I don’t know their communities really.

Though if you have any build idea questions here, I’m sure those of us that have migrated are willing to help you. And some things to answer so we know what to go off of.

Do you have the Fanpatch and Patchfix? Do have TQ or TQIT?

Pazuzu, I’ve got the gear and your end stats, but that’s all.

GUARDIAN GEAR - PAZUZU

Chest: Mantle of Sa’Jun. This chest piece gives the resistances from iron will so you no longer need to have full iron will, just a couple of points in the skill combined with the ones provided by this amazing chest piece should be more than enough.

Gloves: Legendary Stonebinder’s Cuffs - Purifying of Speed or Resistant of Speed, Hale of Alacrity. Socket them with whatever you are gonna need in your build, it usually comes to either poison/pierce resistance, attack speed or HP.

Shoes: Athena’s Battle Greaves or Batracho’s Greaves or the amazing Barbarian Spiked Greaves.

Helmet: Kael’s Visage, a green headgear Purifying of Immortality, Hallowed of Immortality, Hale of Immortality or even just of Immortality, Stately Helm of Immortality. Add Erebus Crystal charm with “all resistances” completion bonus. Visor of the Shadowlord.

Rings: 2x Hale rings of Immortality, both socketed with Dionysus’ Wineskin relic with HP completion bonus. If you feel like you could use some more vitality resistance (mainly because Kael’s Visage helm doesnt provide any) then on one ring put Daemon’s Blood charm with vitality completion bonus.

Amulet: Aphrodite’s Favor, Myrmidon’s Pendant or Blessing of the Gods.

Artifact: Symbol of the Polymath (Elemental bonus) or Star of Ishtar with either resistance bonus or dexterity or HP.

Shields: Legendary Soldier’s Undying Will, preferably Purifying or Impenetrable of Trickery, or ultimately Herculean of the Winds Socket with Legendary Turtle Shell charm with whatever completion bonus you need. Ancile is a good shield that you can use until you find the Soldier’s Undying Will.

Maces: Sapros The Corrupter, secondary weapon a Veteran’s Folg. Socket your Folg with Incarnation of Anubis’ Wrath with attack speed completion bonus. Until you find a Folg, use any legendary green club “Veteran’s of Reckless Power/Annihilation/Havoc” etc. If your green weapon is Veteran’s of Devouring you no longer need to socket Anubis’ Wrath on it, instead use an Incarnation of Valor of Achilles with attack speed completion bonus. If you cannot find sapros yet but you already have a green mace of devouring then socket it with Shen Nong’s Dark Medicine with slow completion bonus in order to deal with bosses.

Positives: This is probably the tankiest build in the game, it combines defense with debuffs in order to create the ultimate tank. It does not require you to waste item slots for 100% ctap and 2k DA gear in order to be immune against dangerous foes like dragonians or skeleton mages, you instead invest in HP that will save you more than you know.

Negatives: This guardian build is mostly likely not the fastest of killers. You will have to use mana potions to keep up with the usage of the skills, no biggie though.

In conclusion: Its the ultimate tank, with max resistances, HUGE HP, quick recovery method in order to completely avoid getting damaged by mobs, great debuffs and buffs that add damage/hp/speed/damage mitigation and of course + 5 to all skills. 2 buffs that can be kept up at all times, rally for speed and elemental resistance and its boss killing ability “ultra reflect” and quick recovery for pure immortality

For the guide itself I just made a note of the thread at TQ.net.

I think this is fairly close to what you had build-wise as I used your guide for my Xmax challenge Guardian.

http://www.titancalc.com/TitanCalc.asp?mastery=Guardian&master1=4&master2=5&sa=21&m1=24-0-16-12-0-1-8-0-10-8-0-0-0-0-6-12-0-8-0-0-0&m2=32-8-1-0-6-12-0-8-6-6-6-0-0-0-6-8-2-0-0-4-6-0

I know I based it on your TitanCalc, but I did change it. I think you went all the way to the top of Nature and had some points in Refresh and you had Rally tree as well which I never use.

Attribute-wise I’ve written Str/Dex 1/1 to L35, Health/Dex 1/1 L36-L65 and then Health 2 after that. Not sure, but was your build up to L75? Mine was done only up to L66 as that’s when I figured I’d finish the challenge.

Mindstab_Thrull, given the decrepit state of Nordic Game’s own forum site, I really wouldn’t want them looking after our “treasure trove” of info.

In short:
In TQIT v1.17 (which I think is Fanpatch), I have a Pyromancer named Fireball which I started due to equipment I’d picked up along the way. She just popped through Medea’s portal (on Normal) and has died a total of four times, all in Act 3. Got some skill points to spend still, and she looks like this right now. Got two pieces of equipment (cuffs and robe I think) that give +1 to all skills, and Fire staff average damage is somewhere around 5-600. Suggestions would be appreciated!

You need spectre’s Patch for the Fanpatch too which continues the work on correcting errors, etc. You might find it somewhere on this thread:

http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40396

Do you plan to take another mastery or are you going to stay with just a Pyromancer? If the latter make sure to push your dex up to 178 as that will be needed to equip the highest level mage gear. The rest you can pour into intel or split between intel/health/energy as needed. That’s assuming you want to keep out of fights. If you plan to get into the thick of things then push your dex as high as possible to improve your DA to help you stay alive.

Play tactically. Set Coredweller to aggressive (right click on his icon and then choose) and he’ll rush in drawing foes to him. Lob in Orbs and Eruption to help him out if needed and finish off with staff fire. Use those spare skill points to max out Volativity, Eruption, Coredweller tree and Orb tree. Maybe Orb before Eruption if you’re using that more. I tend to use Orb for mobs and keep Eruption only for boss fights. The Orb is also good for throwing over walls, down cliff faces, etc, to take out foes before they can reach you. Hold the left-shift key when targetting as the Orb will go much further that way.

It is possible to take a single mastery through to the end of the game, but it won’t be easy. Expect more deaths and don’t get upset when they happen. With only 4 so far, you’re doing well.

So looking at your build, I see some points which could be better spent elsewhere.

Stone Skin from Earth Enchantment is a skill I consider something you invest in more towards the end after getting all your good skills in place so personally I’d have it at 0 or 1 skill point in it to let +skills do the rest.

Molten Rock is a skill I’d only put 1 point in as additional points don’t really do anything for you there.

With Ring of Flame, by this time you’re facing enemies with higher health levels that it’s something you gotta really invest in or it ain’t doing anything. And as it requires you to be close to enemies, I wouldn’t bother with it unless you’re going the auramancer route.

The one point in Flame Surge is also wasted. It’s a weak, short-range skill. If you want to do something like it, Ternion Attack from Spirit is much better.

Same goes for the points in Conflagartion. The skill only has a 3m radius for burn damage (pretty negligible) and doesn’t affect the base skill’s radius.

With Volvativity, it’s not a bad skill. In general I prefer to put 1 point there and maybe more later just because of its 33% chance. So while it’s a good skill, it might be one you can take a little from if you’re needing on skill points but I think you’re fine there.

With the points you’d reassign, I personally would go for leveling Eruption. (or a second mastery) It’s a boss skill that’ll really help you out. My Avenger and Elementalist (not sure about my Battlemage since I haven’t run him for a while) use it to great effect. It’s basically an iWin button and with a little recharge reduction, you’re unstoppable.

When it comes to your play style, what have you been doing mostly? Have you primary shot spells or staff shots? With a caster, spells are generally going to be your go-to over staff damage, which is why -recharge gear can be useful. As Medea said, let Cory go in, attract the mob (that’s why Wildfire is a great skill because it really grabs a mob’s attention for that 1 point investment) and fire away like the hiding coward you are. :stuck_out_tongue: If you ever have a panic moment, Stone Form after dropping an Eruption at your feet. (And you will have panic moments in Act IV.) All the enemies should be dead when you’re out.

As for masteries, a Pyromancer will be tough due to not having the second mastery, but can be done. By the time you get to lv 75, you’ll have maxed the mastery out except for three points. Get +5 to all skills and you’ll have extra. (Though -recharge is more of a goal to shoot for than +skill for an endgame build on a caster IMO.) But if you decide on a second mastery, here are the pros and cons in no particular order.

Nature: Pros as more health (Heart of Oak), meat sponges (Wolves), a good debuff (plague,) a sanctuary (Briar Ward), and a cooldown reducer (Refresh.)
Cons: If you don’t like pet builds, it may be boring. Plague brings enemies to you unless your pets engage first so it can be tricky to use.

Storm: Pros: Debuff (Squall), Boss Killer (Spellbreaker), Buff (Storm Wisp’s Eye of the Storm), good spells (Lightning Bolt, Ice Shards), Second Damage type (if your enemy is good against fire, you can try cold or lightning)
Cons: Keeping both damages strong

Dream: Pros: The Trances, EBD damage, CtaP, Nightmare
Cons: Strength from dream gets pretty wasted and no DEX from the mastery so you’ll have to add that yourself

Spirit: Pros: Ternion Attack, Liche King, Deathchill Aura, Outsider
Cons: Low health

Hunting: Pros: Debuff with Study Prey, CtaP, Monster Lure/ if you go hybrid, Marksmanship, +% DA,
Cons: Hybrids can be challenging

Warfare: Pros: Battle Standard, War Horn, Ancestral Warriors/ hybrid: great for Dual Wield
Cons: Hybrids can be tough

Defense: Pros: Rally and Battle Awareness’ resistances/ hybrid: Defense is strong
Cons: I can’t see an effective style for a spellcaster Juggernaut so you’re pretty much gonna have to hybrid

Rogue: Mandrake, Traps, Knives/ hybrid: Calculated Strike, Lethal Strike, Blade Honing
Cons: Hybrids can be tough

If you’re currently a spellcaster that’s been devoted to spellcasting, I’d stay away from going hybrid on this toon. In the future hybrids can be fun and Brimstone really helps any hybrid. Spellcasting Avengers and Magicians (Hunting or Rogue) seem the easiest to create IMO and a -recharge Magician with knives can be fun as you shoot them all over, Mandrake confuses them, and death ensues. For Avenger, you’d use the Study Prey to debuff and monster lure to act as a second Cory. I play a bow one myself and it’s pretty strong as Eruption doesn’t need a huge INT investment to be boss.

Kaleg Nar you say don’t go hybrid and then recommend two hybrid classes.

I think of the caster choices Spirit may be the best. You have another strong pet in the Liche and Ternion wipes the floor with mobs from a distance. Outsider too can be very helpful. Main drawback is using Ternion against bosses when you need to get up close for all 3 beams to hit their target so high dex/DA is a must.

Mindstab_Thrull, remember that unless you farm a LOT and I mean a LOT you’ll never come near L75 in a straight play through of the game, not even when clearing every area in every difficulty. This is how I play and I usually finish the game around L60-62 max so take that into account when deciding on another mastery. TitanCalc allows you to apply the skill bonus points you get from quest rewards to find your true level (towards the top left of the screen) so use that after you’ve put points into the skills you want. Don’t do it before because it won’t read correctly then, it has to be done at the end. If you want to change it, put the bonus points back to zero redo your build and then apply them again.

Also bear in mind that pets suffer in Normal Acts 3 and 4 before becoming stronger again in Epic so don’t be surprised if Corrie dies a lot on your journey to Hades Palace.

I’ll not recommend and then recommend what I just didn’t recommend as much as I want. :stuck_out_tongue: (Main point for me is letting him know for future characters since I’ve liked my hybrid toons.)

With the needing high DEX/DA it depends on how you play the toon. A Ternion Conjurer (Spirit added) can be played as a caster. You’d be ignoring Poinas’ Harrowing method, but it’s still very playable. Just stand from a distance (maybe firing single shots at the bosses as opposed to Ternion) and cast Eruption and VO at 'em with Cory tanking the middle.

@Medea, I still haven’t finished the game yet (lazy me + wanting new builds) so is your 60/62 number with or without xMax?

It’s just normal game. For Xmax (which I haven’t finished yet) most people were finishing the challenge at 67/68.

Don’t feel too bad. I’ve been playing since 2008 and have only gotten 7 to end of game - 3 on my old PC and 4 on the new. Curse of constantly finding/coming up with new build ideas to try. Also why most of them are still in Normal difficulty!

You can get it directly from me as well: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hi3b2d2tivj4md8/patchfix_en.zip?dl=0 :stuck_out_tongue:

BTW: @grinninglich: It would be great if the collection on your webpage would list the original creators next to your download links. Thanks.

Yes of course i will do that ^^ It will be on that list and also in their specific posts.

Do you remember my PM to you in titanquest.net? Back then i was afraid that titanquest.net may be closed so i wanted to host all the mods in my site. Starting from patches first i asked you. Then real life issues came and i couldn’t find time to spend on internet. It was a strange coincidence that the day i returned to gather mods titanquest.net was closed just recently.

By the way, if we don’t get the database, what is the most likely course of action we’ll take? (I know we’re all hopeful, but Father Squid’s last post was at the beginning of the month, hence why I’m wondering about Plan B.) Is there another site that’d be created or a different forum that looks promising for use?

I really hope that we can get new forum, I’d be happy with one even without the db.

grinninglich says he has a server ready and can set up a new forum in whatever format we want. So we can rebuild from scratch if necessary. Obviously it’ll be a lot easier if Father Squid can get hold of the database. I think he may have a plan for a new forum himself, that was the impression I got from his posts anyway. But until he comes back to us with definite news one way or another we just have to wait and hope he’s successful.

If, as he suspects, iEntry is going through some kind of internal crisis then obviously their priorities are going to be focussed on something other than the TQ database and what happens to it. I did PM him a few days ago, but he hasn’t come back to me yet. Once he has something to share with us he will be in touch so please just be patient.

I made a post on the steam forums for TQIT asking if the devs read the thread and if Nordic planned to host a replacement forum for tq.net. A dev replied just under my post with a short affirmative…but of course not clear if the dev was saying yes, they read the thread, or yes they plan to host a replacement forum or if he was replying to me at all.

Sounds about right.

Wow, that sucks. I’m sure there are plenty of us that would happily host the forum if someone provides the DB and files, myself included. I was just about to go on there to see if there are any fun looking builds I can do for another run through TQ as Gold is on Steam sale at the moment (I only ever owned the original physical copies, so a Steam copy would be nice).

Check my site. I have most mods and a lot of guides there now:

https://www.kirmiziperfect.com/2016/06/08/titan-quest-guides-patches-mods-and-utilities-list-work-in-progress/

Hmm let’s wait a little while but FatherSquid seems to be not around? But after some time we should take action.
