A fair amount of the info is gathered here:

Might find something you fancy playing. If the Bladefinger Magician guide that Fozzie made is there that’s quite good fun. Does need specific gear though so might be one to play later - after you’ve built up your Vault collection and can raid it for items.

grinninglich, let’s give him some more time. We don’t know what’s happening at iEntry, it could be they’ve asked him to wait a bit while they do whatever they need to do, assuming they are having problems.

I’m not up on things like databases, running forums, etc, so I don’t know how easy or difficult it would be to add the database later to an already existing forum.

I’m a bit wary about having a single individual host our theoretical new forum, though. That again creates a single point of failure (no offense to grinninglich or anybody who offered hosting). In that case something like a subreddit, official forums from Nordic or a shared hosting of multiple people might be a better solution, I think. Just my 2 cents to that discussion…

But really, lets wait a few more weeks for news from fathersquid till we rush headlong into action.

@grinninglich: Ah, that was you. Good that you’re planning to add credits to your site.

Well, don’t forget as Father Squid said TQ.net was started/run by one person, then sold to another person, who then sold it on to iEntry. Who runs/owns other TQ sites?

Nice one

So here’s a quick rundown on some of my equipment, only mentioning relevant highlights:
Primary Staff: 54 Fire damage, +12 Fire damage, +13% Fire damage, completed Prometheus’ Flame relic with +12 Fire and +13% Fire
Neck: Spellbound Silver Necklace, +19% Elemental Damage, completed Ankh of Isis relic with 10% Elemental Resistance
Ring1: Cartouche Ring, +18% Elemental Damage
Ring2: Insulated Copper Engraved Ring of Fire, +8 Fire Damage, +10% Fire Damage, completed Dionysus’ Wineskin with 5% Stun chance
Chest: Vest of the Wandering Goat, +1 to all skills
Head: +8% experience
Arms: Stonebinder’s Cuffs of Ability, +1 to all skills, completed Viny Growth
Legs: +15% Elemental Damage
Secondary Staff: 26-76 Lightning, 11-20 cold, 7 Vitality, 7% damage converted to health, completed Zeus’ Thunderbolt with +15% Lightning

Not sure if I have the patch installed, but I know I have the Fanpatch on. What’s the easiest way to tell?

Do you plan to take another mastery or are you going to stay with just a Pyromancer? If the latter make sure to push your dex up to 178 as that will be needed to equip the highest level mage gear. The rest you can pour into intel or split between intel/health/energy as needed. That’s assuming you want to keep out of fights. If you plan to get into the thick of things then push your dex as high as possible to improve your DA to help you stay alive.

I do plan on multiclassing but I enjoy Earth Mastery. At this point I have 6 skill points unspent and I think I’m halfway to my next level. I tend to get in melee occasionally but for the most part that’s Core’s job while I attack from range with either my Staff or an AOE spell. I have a fair bit of equipment that gives +X or +X% (or both!) to fire or elemental attacks, thus the creation of my toon named Fireball. My secondary weapon is another staff that deals Lightning (with some + to Lightning in my equipment too) and damage-converted-to-health to help heal me.

Flame Surge was something I grabbed because I could get it very early in my character’s career - when I was still walking distance to Helos. As soon as I got Volcanic Orb I never used the Surge anymore - Orb is now my RMB.

The character is based around Fire damage (thus the name) so anything that would deal more was emphasized. So, while the burst radius wouldn’t increase, Volcanic Orb + Conflagration would (I expect) still deal a fair amount of damage to a radius, and I find stuff is blowing up real good at this rate

When it comes to your play style, what have you been doing mostly? Have you primary shot spells or staff shots? With a caster, spells are generally going to be your go-to over staff damage, which is why -recharge gear can be useful. As Medea said, let Cory go in, attract the mob (that’s why Wildfire is a great skill because it really grabs a mob’s attention for that 1 point investment) and fire away like the hiding coward you are. :stuck_out_tongue: If you ever have a panic moment, Stone Form after dropping an Eruption at your feet. (And you will have panic moments in Act IV.) All the enemies should be dead when you’re out.

I’m primarily alternating between staff shots and Orb with the occasional Eruption if the situation warrants it. I took out two of the Grey Sisters mostly on the back of Eruption. The Earth Enchantment tree and Heat Shield seem to help a fair bit there - Heat Shield being good when Corey is “full” and minions are looking for someone else to attack, giving me a passive way to handle mooks.

As for masteries, a Pyromancer will be tough due to not having the second mastery, but can be done. By the time you get to lv 75, you’ll have maxed the mastery out except for three points. Get +5 to all skills and you’ll have extra. (Though -recharge is more of a goal to shoot for than +skill for an endgame build on a caster IMO.) But if you decide on a second mastery, here are the pros and cons in no particular order.

<LIST TRIMMED OUT>

If you’re currently a spellcaster that’s been devoted to spellcasting, I’d stay away from going hybrid on this toon. In the future hybrids can be fun and Brimstone really helps any hybrid. Spellcasting Avengers and Magicians (Hunting or Rogue) seem the easiest to create IMO and a -recharge Magician with knives can be fun as you shoot them all over, Mandrake confuses them, and death ensues. For Avenger, you’d use the Study Prey to debuff and monster lure to act as a second Cory. I play a bow one myself and it’s pretty strong as Eruption doesn’t need a huge INT investment to be boss.

I’m eyeing a second Mastery but haven’t chosen one yet. Straight Pyromancer looks like it’s starting to get hard now. I feel like the next Mastery is going to want another Pet (or more?) that’s also hard to kill, like Dream’s Nightmare or Spirit’s Liche King to help take out mobs easier, as I’m much less of a tanky player myself when it comes to this game (maybe because Staff is so flexible?).

Thanks to medea fleecestealer and Kaleg Nar for the advice thus far!

How much Strength do you have? I noticed you were wearing SBCs (Stonebinder’s Cuffs) so I’m assuming you’ve put points into that. Depending on how much, a hybrid class may be the way to go. (Avenger [+Hunting] with a bow and mage gear would be an option fo’ shizzle. Endgame gear of Calypso’s Cover, Tracker’s Hood, Legendary SBCs, Demonskin Walkers, Eye of Flame, Apollo’s Will, Volcanic Ring, and I’m not sure which Artifact {doing a little spitballing from my Sage’s planned endgear]) But if it’s very little, then going full mage is alright.

When it comes to tough pets, Spirit’s Liche King is a tank. And since you say you’re using ADctH, Deathchill Aura’s resistance reduction can let you do that on Undead and Bosses. Endgame gear would be dependent on whether your went the PWNing route (if you plan on updating to Steam’s new version, it won’t work with that) or a straight up elemental dealer from a distance. Both have their pluses and minuses.
EDIT: On Liche King, to give an idea of his tankiness I used him with my Soothsayer (PWNing route) when going against the Manticore on Epic to draw Manti’s agro while I shot him in the butt. I’d estimate Manti was down to 5-10% health by the time he killed my Liche and to give it an exact time, maybe 15-30 seconds were taken to reach that point.

I haven’t done much with Dream so I can’t comment on Nightmare myself, but I do recall people on the .net site saying he was a ‘surprisingly tough little bugger’. Nature’s wolves can also be strong and 3 wolves on the field can definitely do a lot if you get to lv 18 Call of the Wild.

If your version of IT says 1.17a then you have the Fanpatch. If it says 1.17b/c then you also have spectre’s patch installed.

You only need 144 strength for Legendary Stonebinder’s anyway so it shouldn’t be too difficult to push that attribute up enough to wear them and they’ll give +3 to all skills. The Epic version gives +2. Good luck getting them though.

Some items from Fozzie’s Bladefinger Magician guide which will help with both fire damage and/or -% recharge, meaning you can throw out spells faster.

Hesione’s Golden Veil
Cestus
Heka Staff
Archmage’s Clasp
Demonskin Walkers
Seal of Hesphaestus
Heart of the Earth and Eye of Ra - Artifacts

Earlier in game items:
Staff of the Magi
Glowing Bangle
Brimstone ring
Eye of Flame necklace
Molton Orb - Artifact

Also keep an eye out for green “of the Gryphon” and “of the Pegasus” items for elemental damage/resistance; Hallowed headgear for +1 to all skills, vitality damage resistance and +to Health regen; Honor Guard for stun/pierce resistance.

Unlike GD, you can’t socket blues so be aware of that when considering whether a green item that can be socketed would be better to use. Also keep an eye out for nice fire affixes and suffixes such as “Blazing/Fiery … of Brimstone/of Flame”. They’ll really add to your fire damage with both flat and % fire stats.

First of all, sorry for offtopic (i think it is).

Hello, as I finished getting mythic set for my Overseer(Templar) on Soulvizier I thought it would be fun to get back to normal game and create vitality damage based DW Spellbreaker. Of course will be using 2x Rancors with ''Grim" prefix (or anything that gives bonus vitality damage, can be wrong on “grim” one though). And there came the struggle, I have no idea if there are any special +vit/+%vit damage uniques, MIs or greens with certain affixes. Is there anyone who has some information about that kind of gear?

Here’s a dropbox link for the Offline Equipment Database. This will show you all the blues, purples, MIs, relics, charms, and a Titancalc.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/p1pzphqpr7ecf2a/TQ%20Offline%20Equipment%20Database%20v2.0.chm?dl=0

It doesn’t have a list of the prefixes, but Dark is above Grim. I can’t recall the name of the others on that line since I haven’t had personal interest in vitality damage.

One idea for your Spellbreaker will be to have Sapros as one of your weapons so that you can reduce the resistances a bit further to deal more vitality damage. Also keep in mind vitality damage DOES get boosted by INT so you’ll have that going for you too.

Totally forgot about eq db. Didnt know that int boosts vitality, this toon will be a hard to do hybrid. By the way, is there any armor affix with +to vitality? Id check it myself but cant open affix list on phone.

Thanks for taking the time to post this Medea. I appreciate it! I ll go on and keep this somewhere, and try to find the rest, or hope that someone else has a full html page of the first post of the guide

And no, my build was up to level 70, never got him to 75 afaik. The only char i ever got to level 75 was my diviner.

Just touching base…

Again, I’d encourage a little patience. Here’s where things stand. I have hosting ready for Tq.net Mk 2 (for lack of a better name at the moment, and the uncertainty as to whether or not iEntry will let us use the name). I am pretty confident I will have a complete database for the site. I guess you could say we are in the middle of negotiations regarding the rebirth / transfer / resurrection … whatever you want to call it … with the old hosts / owners (iEntry) and the new group (who do not wish to be named at this point). There are several legalities that need to be clarified, and with any luck this will be sooner rather than later, and at that point I will share all the details and hopefully see a speedy resolution take place as the site comes back to life. I will say that in my opinion, the new group that wants to provide hosting is much more suited to that job than iEntry ever was. Hopefully all goes well and they’ll get their chance.

I’ll continue to update as things progress… but don’t really expect to see much until after the July 4th holiday is over.

Keep patient!

Hey everyone, just finished reading through this thread.

I can’t believe another great community and database is at risk of fading away! I’d like to help in any way possible. My startup develops the ModDrop mod manager. We’re currently migrating the torchlight community site (runicgamesfansite.com) to more secure servers and would be happy to cover the cost to host the TQ.net content as well.

Thanks be getting in touch with them Father Squid! Are they asking / demanding any sort of payment before releasing the DB dump?

Again, if there’s anything I can do to help, Please let me know!

EDIT: I just picked up the domain “tqmods.com” in case we end up needing a new domain.
EDIT 2: Picked up titanquestmods.com as well. Which do you guys prefer?

Yay, FatherSquid. That’s very good news and is well worth the wait.

Yay @ FatherSquid! Hope things go well with the transfer of data and such. Are we expecting a likely new URL, or the same one?

TQ Defiler says I have 134 Strength and I’m sure it’s higher than that in game, but that might be from equipment. As for the Nightmare, yeah, I’ve played with Dream before and omgwtfbbqgasm is he a tough one to kill. I have 9 skill points available right now (haven’t “sold” any skill points yet) but I don’t remember having played with a Liche King yet. Oh, and I do actually have a Relic - Molten Orb - that Medea Fleecestealer suggested, and have had for quite a few levels now.

Thanks for the feedback!

I’m a little curious as to which one you’re going to choose. And if you have any further questions, always feel free to ask.

Thanks for the update.

its good news indeed !

Thats great news
