We’re mirroring the site in case I’m unable to acquire it from the current owner. It’s only up now because he wanted to prove he still had the DB.
To your second question: The backup we are downloading works locally. I’m hoping there’s a way to export it to a new site - though I can’t say for sure whether or not that will work without having the DB.
I’m consistently maxing out my connection at ~650KiB/s, but as I had to start again…
Also, I can’t leave it running over night, so I’m probably not very useful in the grand scheme of things, oh well.
But yeah, jiaco has a point. Is it really that useful? I mean a static html backup is better than nothing, but still. Ninja’d by Kreishner

I spoke with someone from their offices yesterday and was told they’d get back to me on Monday. I assumed we’d have the weekend to continue backing up.

Unfortunately not. Archive.org only saves a small subset of pages.
If anyone cares and is still trying to make a mirror, the site is working again for me… hope it stays up for a while more because honestly, it looks like I’m getting nowhere trying to make a mirror this way. After 3 days, 1 hour, 52 minutes… 163k links scanned out of 520k, 30 Gb at the moment, 462k files written… I dread to think what it is going to look like when (if) it gets done.
Yeah, back up for me too. Question is for how long?

Encouraging to see just over 300 guests on TQ.net at the moment. Either a lot of Grim Dawners there or some people are just plain stubborn and have kept checking the site while it’s been down.
Unfortunately not really that good… A quick cursory look tells me about 70%+ are bots…
At least they keep the traffic up!
