TitanQuest.net Site

Hoorah we’re up and running!

I lost my password, tried to recovery but atm no email yet :S

Do you need it? I was still logged in when the site went live.

yes, for some reason my infos werent saved as before.

Ah, that’s why my bookmark only got me to weird places :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, site got suspended for some reason so wasn’t available and then lately you ended up all over the place. Weird, since it should have just taken you back to the free hosting company’s main webpage.

Anyway we’re now sorted with a new paid hosting site so hopefully won’t have these sudden loss of the forum problems in future.

Thank you so much for keeping us in the loop and setting those things straight.

It’s been four m@$%* days I was trying to welcome mountainblade in the “Introduction Section” but the boards were friggin’ unavailable. Good God I’ll do it right away…

Also I can see I don’t have to repost my Avenger Faq (I would have re-done it glady honestly) so big thanks for preserving the Community posts. Seriously I could kiss you right now. :stuck_out_tongue:

Reminder of our new website address folks.

nice to see TQ still have huge by the players

Well, well, just found out something I never knew about the game. We’re discussing the turtles and squirrels that appear all over the place in TQIT over on the new forum and someone mentioned that the squirrels were used as a timing mechanism for quest events. Did the usual google thing and here’s what I found, quite a recent comment from Medierra (November 2017).

"Without a doubt the hackiest thing I remember from Titan Quest is how we managed the event scripting. The quest / event tech had a major weakness in that there was no way to delay an action once it was triggered. So if you wanted something to happen 5 seconds after a player ran through some bounding volume, there was no way to set a delay. It would always be instant.

We were nearing the end of production, so it was hard to request additional features, as engineers were slammed just trying to meet their milestone deliverables. One of the QA testers had started helping out with scripting work, and figured out that there was in fact a way to delay an action from triggering based on the length of an animation.

He ended up using these squirrels we had as ambient creatures as the animation timer, and they became the default timing mechanism. He created an invisible version of the squirrel, which he would place in the levels where he needed them, then would time everything based on the duration of their idle animation. Because of his creative problem solving, he was promoted to designer on the next project."

And my guess, comparing the design teams of TQ and IT, is it was Dave Kondor. In the TQ manual he’s credited as being Q/A - Design Implementation, but in the IT one he’s part of the design team.

That is hilarious

Very nice find, Medea!

Wasn’t me exactly Malgardian. It was Endymion over on TQF who mentioned it. I just googled and found the article he was referring to.

Interesting. So that’s why there are quest related frogs in Lilith map, some frogs drop keys upon attack.

Could well be efko.

And here’s another funny. You want a dedicated medical mastery? How about these skills.

angeldust - Confuses enemy into thinking you’re a friend
heartburn - From your head to your toes
lowbloodsugar - Weakens your enemy
sweetvitamindrip - Refreshes skill cooldown

Yes, they exist, hiding away unused in records/skills/medicine. zivshteg found them when using the art manager.

Do I detect the work of a certain GD dev whose username begins with G?

Okay, looking for some advice here folks. It seems kirmiziperfect is slowly dying. I downloaded the various mods that are there to save them, but I need advice on the best place to upload them so I can then provide links on the new TQF forum. This is totally new to me so any advice welcome. I’ve seen DropBox and Mega, are there others? What about costs? At the moment it’s me paying for the forum hosting and the mods come to around 7GB of data so I don’t think spliiting them between DropBox and Mega for their free options would give enough data space.

I’ve been meaning to put up a modding site for TQ, maybe I can do that this weekend. Once that’s up you can upload them there. In the mean time, I can put them on my One Drive account so everyone has access to them. I’m only using a couple hundred gigs of my 1TB.

Could try hosting on Google Drive.

Pros: 15GB of free space

Cons:

  • Google deletes things of particularly high traffic without terribly much warning
  • The space is shared between your other Google apps, such as your Google Docs/Sheets/Mail/etc. Doesn’t matter too much because most of those shouldn’t take up much space anyways, but it’s something to be aware of.
  • Not the most intuitive user experience.

That would certainly help Kreisher. The more places we have for downloading the better. Unfortunatley looks like the AE version of TitanCalc has been lost as the download link no longer works and kirmiziperfect was the only place hosting it.

Ceno, that’s a possible. Don’t have Google at all, in fact just uninstalled it a few moments ago as it somehow got loaded on my PC. Doubt we’d hit any high traffic problems atm, but you never know. Will have a look at it.

Also does anyone have the Paths masteries mod saved? It seems I missed that one when I was downloading. Got the text for it, but didn’t do the actual download.
