[Tool] GD Defiler

I’m use GDDefiler version 0.2.3.4 (3/15/2019).
Today I tried to load character and got error message “Rebirth data version is not 1…”
I read this topic starting #912, there is many posts with this error. Looks like something about rebirth fountain in Act V.
In last working backup of my character he near rebirth fountain in Frozen River. This is Scandia region, and Scandia is last opened waypoint.
In next backup character finished Act 5 and I can’t open him in GDDefiler.

Thank you for your tool, SoulSeekkor, I use it to respec attribute points and this possibility make playing TQ much more comfortable.

Hi Soul.

hey soul, my titan quest characters no longer show up in the program after i just installed the Atlantis dlc…

Yes, the “header” has changed and all characters from TQ cannot be read by GDefiler :frowning:

Would be great to see a little fix!

It’s not even the DLC, just the 2.3.0/2.4.0 update invalidated TQ chars (I really need this cause I was forced to blow 600K gold just to switch too Volcanic Orb in order to beat the Telkine in the Labrynth. I’d left with only 329K gold which means I can’t go back to my real build until this program is updated).

0.2.4.0 (5/17/2019)
-Added support for Titan Quest: Atlantis character file format.

Please backup your toons before using and let me know if you have any issues!

Soul

Thanks for this tool.

However I am unable to reset my masteries in TQ as the command buttons are disabled. Also can’t change gender, level me up is disabled etc

Any idea why this is please?

Gray

Having the exact same problems.

Hi Soul,
first thanks for your work
Unfortunately the new version (self-updating, as your link is still the older version) doesn´t work completely for me. It´s starting fine, but doesn`t recognize new created character with installed Atlantis DLC and nearly every dialog or function is quitting with an error. Are there new dependencies as the old version ran just fine (but without atlantis support of course). Here are examples :

Any help?

I’ll take a look at this now. Thanks for the heads up!

The mods are problematic in that the games now that they are on Steam are updated so often that any time the specific files needed (mainly 2) are modified they would potentially ALL have to be updated every time. :frowning: I would like to get them ported over but I also don’t have a good tool to do so anymore.

Are you still having this issue? If so please email me your character file and reference these forums, thanks!

Please let me know if you are still having this issue as well, I believe this should have been taken care of with a previous release of the GD Defiler. If you are using Steam cloud let me know and I’ll dig into that more (I’ll do so anyway once I get a chance).

I’ll look into this!

Please make sure to be using the new offline installer, I have a feeling there are quite a few people still using the publish that is no longer updated.

Quest data is stored in separate files/folders that the GD Defiler doesn’t touch (only the player.gdc file is). Are you sure this happened right after only using the GD Defiler? I’ll look at including the map/quest data in the backups as well ASAP. I’m sorry this happened to you either way… This isn’t actually a trainer (those are memory based), this loads off the disk. Editing a character file while the game is running is a big no no and can cause something like this, I’ll do some testing to see if that’s the case but I can definitely put a check for the game running as well to warn users when they save.

The game freezing unfortunately wouldn’t be editor related, generally if the character file isn’t “right” it just wouldn’t load in the game to begin with. I think around then was when the game switched to 64-bit, may be related to that? If you copy the backup and rename it to player.gdc in the folder one level above it you’ll be able to restore it, I don’t have a fancy interface for doing so yet within the editor.

Not yet, I’ve wanted to have the skill trees in-app to be able to do so. :frowning: Just haven’t had time to do something quite that big for it. I can work in a way to manually input one pretty easy though like you describe! I need to rewrite the TQ character piece yet, that’s also a large undertaking to complete unfortunately. I have to look at other things as well like the change masteries piece.

Could you please email me your player.chr file? It would make this easier to test, I may be able to implement a quick fix until I get the rewrite complete.

A leftover piece that needs some work from TQ Defiler, I’ll look at getting this up to snuff ASAP.

I’ll look into this tonight! I see the first error is related to game path. Honestly it may just require me to prioritize the rewrite of the TQ portion, it was never expected that it would change after all these years and then the game got picked up and developed more than any of us thought it would (thankfully, though unfortunately for the GD Defiler lol). I think this will be the next priority after some minor fixes.

Thanks everyone for bearing with me, I know I’m not around very often these days and my time available on this type of thing is not what it used to be.

Thanks for your great work.

works good now soul. had to try winging it with your old tq defiler from 2014 that i some how manged to get to work well enough for a few change until now lol. reminded me how much i loved increasing the # of items and rarity that drop from each chest.

Still doesnt work here, i get System.Exception: rebirth data version is not 1

Thanks for the update.

It works for me, for the most part. However, the portal unlocking feature doesn’t seem to do anything. I’ve checked each gate, but I still can’t teleport to them in-game.

Doesnt work for me… or at least i dont know how to edit for better drops… i have tq ae atlantis but it doesnt show any mods for drops just a character editor…

Hey Soul,

got any update for us?
