the error message you are showing appears when you are saving the config and is for either the install or save dir.
When you select the save dir, do you get a popup error message right away? If not, then it is not the install dir. Same for the save dir, when you select it and it is considered wrong, you should get a popup error message right away. Whichever one of the two gets the popup is not correct / does not meet the conditions.
For the install dir, it needs to have a database\datanbase.arz, as mentioned. For the save dir, you should either have a transfer.gst or .gsh, or a main or user subdir. If you have none of these, it is not being accepted, but if you ever played GD, some of these should existâŚ
This is the issue ! Itâs a new install so I have not created characters yet and therefore a *.gst or *.gsh does not exist. Once I have done that Iâll come back and try the setup again. Thanks for the explanation
this doesnât really tell much
iâve been using GDstash on 1.2 since the stash version 1.7.3? i think, and they work, assuming everything was normal, java version, imported database/set paths right etc
so youâd have to specify whatâs wrong and what youâve tried to set it up i suppose
i canât tell exactly what that means, donât have that expertise, iâd guess a save path is wrong somewhere? judging by the first line, and something is off with Java from the second line? - assuming itâs not translation file related (since i donât speak chinese?/ donât use translated version of the tool)
you would have to wait for Mamba i suppose to tell what those 2 specific errors are if reinstalling java/setting paths and reimporting doesnât work
Youâre my bro, I made a mistake by importing the wrong folder. As a result, I am unable to create any items in Grim Dawn. Thanks for your help, bro. It really means a lot to me.
Hello, i have an error with gdstash (gds 1.7.5 - javahotspot 1.8.0_401)
this error ONLY happens when i click the MASTERY INFO tab, between CHAR EDITOR and COLLECTION.
When i click the dropdown box next to skill points in either mastery, i get a UI corruption (pictured)
Sorry for the extremely belated reply, but the items lost were everything I had moved since the last time I hit the save button.
So far as I can tell, GD Stash removes the items from the source location right when the move is performed, but only persists them in their destination when you hit the save button.
Because moves are not atomic, the program crashing between moving items and hitting the save button results in the items being lost forever. This makes move operations dangerous unless you save between every single action you perform.
Databases avoid this problem through enforcing atomicity through transactions: either all of the actions in a transaction are performed successfully, or nothing happens; that is, the state of the database is the same as before the transaction.
On an unrelated note, in 1.7.5 Iâve noticed that importing the databases goes fine until importing images, at which time the program completely greys out. I can leave it sitting there for 30+ minutes and it just sits there. Iâm on a pretty fast computer with an SSD, and no disk activity is happening. The modal popup is still there and I can drag it around, but nothing appears to be happening. All I can do is kill the process and reopen it, but Iâm not sure if the database import successfully completed or not.
the save button saves the char / stash data. If you move an item out if its database onto the stash and then crash before saving the shared stash then yes, that item would be lost
If you move the item to the database and then crash before saving, you have it in both places
If you want to avoid losing items, do not move it from the DB but copy it. This does allow multiple chars to have the same item, but you can accomplish that via the transfer stash as well, so I see no harm there. You cannot store multiple copies in GDS
Iâm not sure how GDStashâs compatibility checks work [text removed] GDStash comes up with âversion not supportedâ errors when I select a character I recently played a session with. Iâm currently using the most updated version of GDStash (v1.7.5), so Iâm confused on how I can fix these errors.
EDIT: Apparently Crate pushed out a 1.2.0.4 update and thatâs whatâs bricking GDStash. Sorry for the potential confusion, hope a fix comes out for it soon!
You cannot, and it has nothing to do with a mod version either. The only time such a check pops up is when the GD save file format changes. Not aware of there having been a change, will look into it
I canât get the scaling set to show me what is on the right side of the Import/Export window.
And there is no scroll bar on the bottom so I can see what is to the right of âSearch.â
Iâve set the scaling in âConfigurationâ from 50 to 200 and it makes no difference.
