try it without the \main
Also take the Documents folder out of OneDrive. That programme causes more problems âŚ
dang it, I copy/pasted the wrong thing, but I wasnât working without the \main.
what made it finally work was using the dropdown to go all the way back to the beginning and reselecting the correct directory.
I also ticked the options for âxfer items between SC and HCâ and âxfer soulbound items between charsâ but Iâm not sure that had anything to do with my issue.
aye. that was one of the things I did. I also used regedit to disable OneDrive completely. couldnât stand that program.
I have been using GDStash for years and currently on the 1.3 playtest branch and 1.8.2a. I wanted to try out the Messenger Repeater and noticed it gives the wrong stats (+6 and 40% WD to Belgo Shears) and no +4 to Nightâs Chill. Pretty sure this is the first time Iâve ever seen the wrong rolls on anything.
I tried rolling back to 1.2.1.6 and deleting GDStash folder for a clean import but no luck. I also tried multiple old saved versions of GDStash like 1.76, 1.78 etc but they all show the same thing.
Any ideas? Cheers.
Did you reimport the GD database?
Every update to GD, you need to reimport the database from within GDStash.
those arenât wrong stats, thatâs the v1.3 stat changes to repeater
Completely wiped the GDStash databases each time then imported from scratch. I also completely deleted Grim Dawn and reinstalled clean (1.2.1.6) from Steam, then tried again but fresh 1.3.0 install. Nothing changes.
if you import the data, then it should reflect the current GD data (the one you had installed at the time of the import)
Yeah it did show the old version with Nightâs Chill if I reverted to 1.2.1.6 but when I went to 1.3.0 the weapon would change to the one I linked above in the screenshot. I only noticed it right off because itâs a dual-wield melee WPS on a ranged 2-hander. Unless 1.3 will allow for WPS regardless of weapon type or itâs a bug or Iâm totally missing something.
v1.3 adds a modifier that enables what you see
you can take dual blades and belgo shears (only) with that rifle, and make a gunner NB
just like other items enable âunfititngâ skills (stormrend = 1h primal strike, spellscourge = devastation)
Now thatâs a really cool change. I hadnât even settled on a secondary yet but NB it is. Cheers
Iâve got a few lvl 100 characters, and I donât feel like leveling a couple more that I already have all the lvl 94 items for. I use cloud save, but I am considering (first backing up my saves), turning off cloud saves, using GD Stash to change those guys to lvl 100 (Can I also just do all the quests in ultimate?), then removing GD Stash and re-enabling cloud saves.
Should that work just fine?
you donât need to remove GDstash/GDstash issue with cloudsave doesnât have anything to do with that, itâs just about the way the game handles the saves in the save folder. As long as you donât rename a char, and isnât ingame, you should be able to edit with cloud saves on still.
And if you do use local saves temporarily, you canât just copy paste your saves back into the steam save folder, they have to be imported, or it wont read them if they got changed without it ânoticingâ.
^Likewise when you turn cloud off youâd then need to move the saves to actual local saves/documents save folder first
(just turning off/on cloud doesnât actually do what people think, it changes save location on your PC/âcloudâ still saves to the PC just in a different folder, so flipping switch = saves need to be moved to match)
Ah. Okay, so if I donât change cloud save at all, but install GD stash, donât rename the characters and just alter a couple, then delete / stop using GD Stash, I shouldnât have any issues?
iâm saying you donât have to delete GDstash, you just canât use it while the game/char is running, because it loads stuff from memory when the game is in world.
itâs not that GDstash doesnât âworkâ without cloud off, itâs just a lil extra hassle sometimes
(and if you do turn cloud off itâs not mere a settings, you have to move saves to new folder to match)
Ok, so just to be sure, I can:
Not disable cloud save
install GD stash
modify a couple characters while not playing the game
uninstall GD Stash (I donât plan on continuing to use after changing a couple characters)
Continue playing Grim Dawn as I was before
?
Iâve never used it before and just want to make sure I donât mess anything up
yes that should work afaik,
cloud save folder doesnât prevent the use of GDs itself, the game is just wonky the way it saves the changes vs what gets read from the folder (ie certain stuff doesnât work like renaming iirc)
And then the note is just if you turn cloud off to not deal with that wonk, you have to actually move saves forth and back yourself /itâs not just a âsteam online switchâ but a file and folder location swap function
changing to level 100 should work without problems, apart from you using cloud save, which has the tendency to ignore changes on your HD and instead use the cloud data, thereby undoing any changes you made.
You cannot change quests with GD Stash, you can copy over the normal / epic data to legendary however and get the quests that way
