Hey thank you. Again I apologize if I came across as snarky as it wasn’t my intention at all. Thanks again from the update.
No problem. Remember to re-parse your item stats (grim dawn tab).
This will recalculate the rarity.
Sorry for the delay, work and then procrastination…not a good combo sometimes.
Anyways…
Database was parsed. Even clicked the ‘update item stats’ button for good measure. No change.
This shows the word ‘skills’ coming up with no results.
I wanted to point out that the search result of ‘skills’ didn’t also include +X skills to Y Mastery. Something I can’t remember if I pointed out or not.
As far as examples of items with +X to all skills, this is what I found when I dug through the item database.
Are you using some kind of language pack? What’s with the weird item names?
In any case, the yellow triangle indicates that IA still needs GD running to fetch the real stats, which is what the free text search is based on these days.
I am playing a mod called ‘Dawn of Masteries.’ I also use the rainbow item filter, though that should just change some coloring in game, item naming should stay the same.
As of writing, I have logged over 30 hours in the last 2 weeks, I don’t recall it taking this long before.
Ah… yeah…free text search will not work for DoM.
I’ll see about getting a workaround for that for mods, since they don’t get real item stats.
EDIT: I’ll get real stats support for mods as well, to ensure that text search works. Hopefully out next week. No promises on timeline.
Frankly I was just worried that I broke something or did something wrong. Glad to hear that isn’t the case (for once)!
Adding search support for mods sounds like a wonderful idea, if you are able to do so. If not, no big deal. I’ve gotten (and surely will continue to do so) so much value from item assistant already. I’m sure most can say the same.
Thanks for the help and replies too.
@Zymmer : Make sure you test it and give me feedback, I’ve not actually tried it with mods.
If it fails, link me the mod download and how to install it.
I see no reason it should fail though, follows the same pattern as item looting, so should support mods just fine now.
Unfortunately I have noticed zero changes after playing for ~90 minutes.
The forum (and download links, directly beneath the picture with all the masteries) for Dawn of Masteries is here:
To install it, do the following:
- Download the mod (it’s over 1 gigabyte); latest version is 1.6.0
- Extract it (Should give you 1 folder with 2 subfolders - database and resources)
- Move the ‘dom’ folder to the ‘mods’ folder inside Grim Dawn
- Boot up Grim Dawn, switch the game mode from ‘Main Campaign’ to ‘Custom Game.’ Doing so should give a drop down menu for the map. Select dom ~ world001.map. If you have no other mods, this should be the only option.
Afterwards you should be playing modded Grim Dawn. Side note - there is presently a bug with Dawn of Masteries that makes the game crash if you are going through the Gloomwald or Ugdenbog zones. Starting from about the Gloomwald Riftgate and ending at about the Barrowholm Riftgate, due to a problem with a modded monster.
So I have booted up Item Assistant, but haven’t touched Grim Dawn yet.
In my tests with Item Assistant (after installing the update) I still find that the words not in either the name of the item itself, or the component it has socketed into it, do not show up. Regardless as to whether or not I am searching for +1 to all skills (or its variations), like the original quest, or something more mundane like frostburn or vitality decay.
I don’t know if playing Grim Dawn for a little while would change the outcome of this, my gut says ‘no,’ but I am also not a mod developer.
Let me ask you a question. If you were in my position, and installing Item Assistant update manually, how would you do it? I’ve just been following the instructions it gave me - putting it in the same location, clicking ‘next’ a bunch of times, etc… Haven’t had any prompts to overwrite anything. Plus the version number in the bottom right matches what it said in your link, so I am assuming I am doing it correctly, but it is probably worthwhile to ask just to make 100% sure. At least I think so anyways.
Otherwise if you can get Item Assistant to read the ‘descriptions’ of items in vanilla but not modded games, perhaps the descriptions are different or changed or in a different location in modded games compared to vanilla Grim Dawn. Just spitballing ideas - trying to be helpful.
Go to settings, click view logs, and delete the folder named “replica”.
It probably queued the item data with the wrong mod name, which was the fix in 1.4.8983.9281
Then restart IA and GD.
Pretty much the same way, next next next done.
Excellent. If you send me an export.ias file I’ll also look into the item naming.
Settings => View backups => Tuesday.zip for example
Monday.zip (975.0 KB)
I gave you Monday instead. Out of curiosity, how difficult would it be to add ‘All Skills’ to the list in the misc. tab?
For someone who might have been playing the same mod (or vanilla) for a long time, sorting through all the items with “+X to All Skills in Y Mastery” to find “+X to All Skills” might be a bit troublesome.
IA is not updating item stats after being placed in IA from GD. It updates around half the items than stops. The issue occurs for both standard GD and mods.
Is there a solution to the issue. I am on IA release 9281 and running 64 bit 1.2.1.1 of GD
I’ll try to look at it today, I suspect I know the cause…
Got an internal max queue size, perhaps it’s not emptying or something similar…
