[Tool] Grim Dawn Skill Calculator

– this is useless of course,
Why ??

Anyway Win 10 x64, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Edge and 60mb fibre

First link loads almost instantly, max 1 sec, in all browsers, but generally only the hour glass and dagger or just one in that bottom r/h corner of the browser window is visible. The pop-ups work as I mouse over, but it’s not until I click and drag on the page for the first time that the rest of the images appear. MS Edge and firefox both briefly show the full original Grim Calc soldier mastery image, the other browsers show a white ish screen with a grey vertical bar on the L/H side (image attached)

Second link takes between 1-2 seconds in all browsers, but all the images are there when loaded.

Dragging the corner of any of the browsers and the image would adjust to fit, but only by changing the amount of visible image, no re-sizing if it’s supposed to.

Tried again in 4K and all the same results

Windows 8.1 (x64), using Opera.

First link loads quickly but most images do not appear until I click and drag for the first time.

Second link loads fine but it feels as though it lags quite a lot when I try to look around in it.

The first one feels a bit laggy. Great work!

A question on the grimcalc, I read somewhere that at level 51 and up you only get 2 skill points instead of 3 so should the final skill point tally for b28 be 168 and not 178?

Yep

Hello Stormcaller!

I was wondering if you could add to this page http://grimcalc.com/monsters the various Nemesis and Mogdrogen?

oh. see awesome. I like it

Oh. the first one is supposed to be the fine version and the second one should be laggy. interesting.

Yep, this is the expected result  thanks. I was kinda wondering if “their pc is good enough, even second link wouldn’t lag” kinda :stuck_out_tongue:

The second link is useless, because normally the only thing I gain with separate constellation images would be adding css properties for each constellation, but thats probably not worth it, not with tons of small images, or a big sprite.

Weird you can’t drag. Will look into it. Thanks. Perhaps its too laggy so you think you need to click twice?

In the mean time, that one is 1~2 patches behind. This should be the latest version: http://104.236.206.28/monsters (may be slow)
Keep in mind I will be destroying this site soon, so Im just posting this for quick looking things. dont link it :stuck_out_tongue:

I think we need nemesis, devotion, bounty, faction categories. Right?

It works most of the time, but sometimes (usually after assigning points) the cursor changes (while dragging) to quickdrag icon and moving is locked until i click once. Happens with both links, just very inconsistent. Disabling quickdrag solves the problem (+ Ctrl+F5 to see the change :o ), so its a very minor one .

I don’t know, I kind of like the four that you have. Maybe a Nemesis category too, but everything else just feels general enough.

Any chance (when you do redeploy the site) to add a link to the Monsters section on the main sidebar of grimcalc?

Both gets laggy once I start to play around a bit. Probably a browser issue, I am on Chrome Version 48.0.2564.48 beta-m (64-bit). It works pretty smoothly on firefox.

My next post will be a release, unless someone asks something that requires urgent answering :stuck_out_tongue: sorry for the delay. if you are looking for something new, go back!

There is a different version in works(actually finished, just last touches/rendering the devotion image again etc. parts are left.) that is better and uses canvas instead of plain html. I was asking basically if enough people would have problems with the link I put out, and it looks like you guys do  So the final version won’t have these issues.

Very high.

I think these four comes from database records(as in monsters have categories) whereas the ones I posted as additions were just folders in the database structure. I will check out the db to see if they exist as separate categories or not. Perhaps additional categories, along with these.

Thanks for this site its really useful when trying to figure out builds!

Hi all,

To give storm caller some reprieve and since I’m on holidays/unable to play atm, I’ve taken the liberty of creating a very basic devotion skill calculator for us all to use until we get the polished version on grimcalc.

This is designed only to help you map out paths to your desired constellation. Use the devotion Wiki to determine exactly, which constellations you’re after.

To use this calculator, unzip the spreadsheet (no macros, so don’t stress).
On the first sheet called Build, just select the constellation from the dropdown list in Column A.
Column B will count how many points you’ve currently spent on your build.
Columns C through G will list the requirements for that constellation and will turn red if you don’t have enough affinity.
Columns H through L will tally up your current affinity, so you can see how much of what affinity you’ll need for the next desired constellation.

The second sheet called Constellations, is a table with a list of all current constellations in the game. You can filter and sort any of the columns by hitting the down arrow next to them. This can be useful when you’re looking for a filler to get you over the line, something like Jackal into Behemoth, but then drop jackal. The dropdown list on the Build sheet is linked to column A in the constellations table and will display in the order of table

The calculator will also intuitively know when you’ve removed a constellation, just add that constellation again after you’ve finished with it. This will reduce your affinity accordingly as well as your points spent.

V2 will keep track of your required affinity as you drop constellations now.

Enjoy.

sigh, there was a slight bug in the last spreadsheet.

This version will keep track of how much affinity you need as you drop constellations.

I have also added an example build in so you can see how to use this calculator effectively.
To remove the build, just select a from the dropdown menu or copy one of the a at the bottom.
the a constellation is just a space filler with 0 for all figures, this was required for formulae consistency.

Before implementing devotion calculator maybe it is better to fix those basic feature like not showing correct level of player? Your calculator still thinks that after 60lvl the player gets 3 points and that messes everything up. It should not show ‘-4 points’ for example. Is it so difficult to program it to show correct points per level?

I find this extremely rude. Unless you are sending money to the people giving their time to these tools, you have no right.

I ma at work so I can’t take a look at game and your tool.

Do you already update it with B29 ?

Thanks for your work

I’d like to use this opportunity to say hi to wind devils pet skill, another bug I haven’t fixed in published version yet
Generally I am working on other stuff on the site and the page changes as a whole so if I change the js file to be the one I have, it will break, its not just drag & drop. So I have to update the site itself, essentially keeping 2 versions. I don’t like to keep a release that somehow has different updates than the development one developing them in parallel for bug fixes, its just not worth it because this is not an app that people do their business on or where bugs cause a loss. Mind you, I update the game databases and keep it up with other important stuff. Its the minor things I leave. In this case its literally changing a few numbers, so I can see where you are coming from. Note that devotion was supposed to be done by a time much earlier than this, so its not like I prefer it to be this way entirely. Or maybe I do, its the amount of points I dont care that much if its going to display the wrong number for 2 weeks tbh.

If its going to make you happy, I have changed the amounts to be 168 now, for level 60 :stuck_out_tongue: But I think thats still wrong, with the new difficulty levels and the level cap is upped too, I think.
I assume the point amount is 2 after level 51, so I don’t know if thats been changed to 60, either.
So, lets fix it together shall we? please give me the correct numbers, I think stats should be (85-1)(levels)+13(quests * diffuculties) = 87 and the skill point should be (593)+26(2)+13 = 232 (if its level 60 that it starts giving 2 points)
Of course I havent verified so I doubt this is right, can someone confirm and/or fix these numbers?

I mean how long its been, I have been around for 20 patches now, and I’m not playing the game at every patch. So don’t expect me to keep up with the numbers. New level cap? I’m probably not leveling there in this month  please just supply me with these details, because I am really not following closely.

Yeah, the phrasing is a bit unfortunate, its good to be notified though. I normally just ignore but this really tiny and I realized I dont have this fixed in my development version(not for b29, anyway) so lets take this opportunity to verify numbers for b29 instead of leveling a character
For the record I will fix everything thats going to take only about a line or two, as long as you provide the numbers/details.

No, 2 points only starts at L51. From another thread:

Let’s do it all:

You have 49 levels of 3 points (2-50) for 147 points.

You have 35 levels of 2 points (51-85) for 70 points.

You have 3 points from quests.

147 + 70 + 3 = 220

Presumably, there will be another 6 points (3 + 3) from the same quests in Elite and Ultimate difficulties as well, but no confirmation of that yet.
