⭐ Top 20 Softcore builds, End of Forgotten Gods Edition [1.2.1.6]

No idea. We reported it some time ago as busted but it had to be revised, a lot of builds ended up being stronger.

Maybe it’s because sigils arent meant to be pseudo-spammed in light of the coming FoA tech with stacks. We would know much more if some of the radical patch decisions would come with some notations.

Looks like the best overall superboss (including Crate) killer on the list though. And in the game? Excluding pets, not sure about them. However it cannot tank Callagadra’s Sunder in the 2nd phase, has to Evade so I don’t think it’s broken.

Some stats from the professional Nightbringer Archon live presentation by @RektbyProtoss :

  • time played: over ½ hour

  • tested activities:

    • SR 30-31
    • Crucible
    • Crate, Calla, Ravager
  • supervising members of "We" present in chat: @banana_peel, @grey-maybe

  • 15 / 4 Ascension on 40% cdr number of uses: 0 (zero) - wasn’t even on the f. hotbar

Hey, I wonder what’s the optimal completion bonus for helmet on retal Warder?
And which blacksmith would that be?

Freeze res, I think it’s the one in Malmouth Resistance.

Interesting stuff.

I noticed this myself: regen mostly saves me when I am trying to run away because I messed up, or doing a hit-and-run style character. But the opportunity cost is pretty big and burst damage can easily kill you before it kicks in even on a hit-and-run playstyle.

I still love it for navigating annoying shards/skeleton dungeons with lots of ground damage, though, and it is also better if you play more carefully and pull fewer enemies at once. (But of course, that is a terrible choice when you’re trying for speed.)

This is the one I should take on board. In most of my builds DA is the stat I got to last, and many tend to hover around 2600 DA for that reason.

Did you guys use any updated benchmark for effective DA, or is it still 2600 minimum, 3000 preferred? I see quite a few of your builds around 3000, but some like the brutalax dervish seems to get by with considerably lower.

I would say ~2900 for auto-attackers/channelers/spam-casters, bit less for Nightblades with Veil of Shadow but mostly build dependant. Some high cdr Arcanists can get away with much less.

Interesting read. Thanks.

It’s going to depend on other defences, because you can get away with less DA if you have high damage absorb, armour, shield defence, health + health regen/adctch etc. And with retaliation builds you want low DA, because you want enemies to hit you :stuck_out_tongue:

But yeah, in my experiences with deep SR, 2600 is the minimum you want to aim for as part of the formula for surviving it. But alone it wont save you, even when gotten to 3000DA.

Although if going the glass cannon route, it might work :3

@mad_lee I wonder if ADCTH Ravager’s Helmet might be better vs Calla since she debuffs your DA to the floor anyway. This would be 50% buff to default leech (7% added to 14%).

Which build are you talking about?

Oh, sorry, RoS Blademaster.

I have 18% adtch on it, DA is more valuable here than extra leech overall. Why?

Ah, a smaller buff, I got the numbers wrong. Anyway, I thought it would be worth testing against Calla because she debuffs DA by 500 so you’re getting Crit anyway and more life leech might be better in this scenario.
