Town Center Garrison

I cannot see the garrison capacity, nor the number of villagers currently garrisoned during a raid. This would be most helpful, and something everyone in the village would know.

On a related note, the ‘Alarm’ from the Town Center only seems to affect the villagers within a small radius of the Town Center. Villagers elsewhere do not seem to change their behavior at all, nor is there any noticeable change in behavior if I don’t bother to sound the ‘Alarm’ during a raid - carts still amble off down the road directly toward the incoming raiding Horde, villagers trot back and forth between town and fields, mines, camps until they physically get within a stone’s throw of the raiders - and, unfortunately, well within bow range of the raiders.

This behavior has been ‘standard’ since at least version 7.5 and Suicidal Villagers walking right into raiders regardless of alarms is still my biggest source of casualties in raids. If the villager behavior is not going to change, the only result of the Alarm system is to provide a garrison for the Town Center, and apparently that only affects a tiny percentage of the town’s population - everyone else is expected to fend for themselves, and is pretty bad at it!

Thank you Boris. I agree. That would be ideal. As it is, I select all and move them only to have them wander back into the the raiders bloody embrace. Then I wonder if I have not just moved villagers that would have garrisoned.

On my latest map, at the end of the last raid I counted all of 10 villagers exiting the Town Center, so presumably that was the ‘garrison’ during the raid. But that was out of a total population of just under 800, so it’s only a tiny fraction of the villagers that seem to be affected by any ‘garrison’ mechanic. Since the guard towers, barracks, and other defensive structures have no provision for sheltering villagers, they are all left to their own devices, whatever they are.
