I always found it strange that I have to sell my items at “THEIR” prices or buy their Items at “THEIR PRICES”. Ok i get paying their price for their items I can handle that but I should be able to offer MY price for my items and i should also have a wagon that travels around to other cities and sells the items i want to sell at the price i want to sell it at. Adding something like this means more coding but that’s what early access is right? lol
This is such a cool idea. It would open up some new building types and create a lot of diversity for how you build your economy and acquire wealth. There could maybe be some integration with raiders too like there is a chance that your trading caravan get’s sacked by raiders but if you consistently kill all the raiders who attack your village than the chance of your trade caravan getting sacked decreases.
But anyway what a cool idea I hope others agree!
This is still single player game at this moment and you have NPC with changing prices. If you upgrade shop, you will get three traders. You will be able even buy and sell their goods with profit. But if dev change the setup that you will make the price, you will be at the same point. You will not sell it for your prices, because they will not buy it. If yes, you will setup some trash for 500 gold and you will never take care about the business.
I don’t think anyone in this thread has suggested multi-player. I think they are talking about rabbithole off-map trading. You send them off with goods and I suppose some calculation will be made with a random factor added about what they will have managed to sell by the time they reappear.
To decide whether they accept “YOUR” price or not, they would have a minimum asking price. So basically you just want their price to be hidden and having players makes 150 proposals to try and guess that minimum asking price ? That does not look fun to me
I like your second idea though !
Trader amount of items stored is also counterproductive.
Instead of setting how much I want to be in my traders,
it would be nice with a function where you can set how much of each goods you have in store in your settlement. So any surplus would go to your market place.
