Trading Post Mechanics - Why so convoluted?

Why is the Trading Post so difficult to manage? It feels like an integral part of your town’s survival, and I am in there fumbling around and getting frustrated. To the point where I just save and quit. There is so much that needs to be managed quickly and correctly. The Trading Post needs to be way more intuitive. Or at least have a proper tutorial (which would seem out of place),

Everything else is stellar. Keep up the good work. I love this game!

Welcome to the forum. :slightly_smiling_face:

What’s convoluted about it? You move goods into the trading post ready for when traders come so you can sell them. I usually move my stuff in the autumn so it’s ready for when traders arrive in the new year.

its reverse designed. The amount selectable should be how much you want to keep in stock in your town, not in keep trading post stacked at all time, so you run dry of certain things. You want to sell excess of goods, not make yourself run dry on items.

If you select to transfer X amount it will only transfer X amount and stop transferring once that amount has been received.

e.g. I have 89 potter. I want to sell 49, so I move that across. If I sell that pottery that’s the end of the transaction, it will not demand another 49 as per my previous request.

I agree with @Krufar. I want to keep at most 50 pottery in my town and have all the excess (up to the cap of 500) sent to the trading post. Currently, when the snow melts, I go to the trade post and manually shift the excess from inventory to the post.

I think it’s OK.
When I want to send some stuff to the TP, I simply enter how much I want to keep in the cell on the top left and the rest gets transferred.

If what you would want is auto-transfer, I already thought about it in the past but the TP has a place limit, so it wouldn’t work very well.
