They are in this spot every time and each playthrough I do this minor detail annoys me

you are taking the directions too literal/as if it meant southeast of barrowholm
ugdenbog is big,
so it’s indeed NE ugdenbog, if one wanted to debate general/non specific vague direction descriptions

Dev also mentioned that not everything is super “exact”, but also due to things changing during development, so a position might shift slightly, and then be less not super exact
unsure if they intended for the “vague” nature of just calling it NE ugdenbog as is, and just didn’t consider referring to it as east/SE of barrowholm, or because the travellers at some point during devs actually wasn’t that close to barrowholm
You’re right that it is in fact in the north east of ugdenbog however when you look at it from that scale, the travelers are in basically the same place. “Northeastern travelers” vs “northern travelers” makes no sense at that scale. It confused me the first time I did the quest, I thing the directions should be from barrowholm, for example “north east of barrowholm” and “south east of barrowholm”

like i said, you’re not the first one mentioning it about this specific quest, even if we don’t count in other quests with less than GPS/pint point accuracy directions, this particular one seem to be a more prominent one for some players
