yea this build is a little slow till around 30… once you hit 30 it gets crazy really quick.
I have to say I am really enjoying this build, much more than the last one. The only thing that irritates me is that pneumatic burst has to he cast over and over to keep it up, but I am working on an AHK script to keep it up for me, because I am lazy lol

I got to level 40 and removed points from a lot of stuff, including the briarthorn pet and shadow strike. I do not care for the totem, it doesnt have enough range and doesnt last long enough (not to mention it is hard to cast quickly) and like the briarthorn pet much more. I also really like the shadow strike ability. Not sure how I like what is happening, and I seem to be dieing a lot more in the last few levels
Doesn’t look like this is updated in leveling guide to reflect ant Devouring Swarm. How accurate is the build as of today?
After having rushed one summoner through SC I decided to use this as my first build making the switch to playing strictly Hardcore.
Due to my lack of experience I have a lot of questions and hope you can be of help.
Okay, so taking this build to hardcore its obvious that you will need to gear differently than the suggested gear which is just bleed items.
I will list my problems, experiences & questions below:
- Going 50 cunning means its almost impossible to get 1k physique for empowered legplates of valor - this build lacks bleed resist and on HC those legs are mandatory.
I solved this by grabbing Tinker’s Ingenuity belt. I wanted the belt so I could equip the Emp. Valor Legs, but that belt covered my bleed resistance & raised it’s max which I’m really keen on keeping since bleed reflect is the only problem this build faces.
So you see, by grabbing this belt I’m losing the only item with Reduced Bleed Duration which was my Emp Bloodbathed Links. As of now I wanna keep the new belt - the max bleed res is incredible, covers all poison res too and gives me the option to go look for green leggigns with Health & Bleed DMG, as I plan to do with gloves too. Now I dont wanna change your gearing (which is just suggestions) I just had to adapt to spending my stats like a fucking noob - and now I’m lacking an item with reduced bleed duration (i think? thats why im here), so wanted to hear how important you think this stat is? cause im planning on swapping the recommended chest out with Fiendscale to get the Reduced Bleed stat back and boost my HP a bit thus losing out on some pierce damage - and I dont know how much that really matters?
- How did you solve energy problems? Atm I’m at level 80 and resistcapped on ulti so i slapped Ecto on rings to maintain.
Clairvoyants hat too ugly to be considered
On rings I suggest you mention Cronley Rings - best I could find. The one I’m using atm looks like this:
25% chance of 87 lifeleech pr second
102% bleed damage
334 health
4% cunning
3% attack speed
23% pierce res
35% poison res
22% aether res
25% chaos res
20% dmg reflected
All the best & thanks for a killer build!!
Yea my goal when making it was to make paperbag that kills =) i mean you can definetly drop a lot of cunning to make the build tankier. It by no means needs the 37%crit chance that i am rocking =).
As for Energy issues. Phantasmal Armor believe it or not is supper good. Put a good number of points into that and you will no longer have energy issues.
Thanks for the quick reply. Had missed the maxed PA when looking over skills. Also managed to get bleed-res capped with Emp Links and without Emp Valor or Stonehides.
You are right though - i will never be able to sacrifice enough survivabilty to get that sweet crit of yours :-). But seeing 150k crits and above on HC while keeping 12k+ hp seems decent.
wondering where do I find that dot ticks in the game? in the stats area?
You have to look for them on the screan. They don’t show up as a single hit due to them being a compiled damage of all dots showing up in a single visual tick every second.
ok thanks for the reply, that’s what I thought when I was looking for it other than one on the screen, nice build so far!

Hi!
Decided to give this awesome build a try, read tips about leveling it using Devouring Swarm (and it rocks), but it eats manna a lot. I could invest some point into spirit to get caster gear with regen, but your sttributes allocation is still a bit unclear.
At first it was like “everything into cunning” but your latest is
10 phy / 40 cun / 16 spi
with 10 unspent points.
So how it’s going? It’s safe to invest some point into spirit early to get some mana regen?
And how to level with Devouring Swarm? i mean yes, it annihilate like everything, but what skills to choose next after i max it do get a get a build like yours later ? Aim to Vendigo Totem, or on contrary - some NB skills?
your energy comes from phantasmal armor. it’s pretty insaine for this. Early game DV is just terribly powerful. that being said you can get to 30 just using DV and Vit casting if you really want. after 30 the build really takes off as most of the core mechanics of the build are in play.
as for the attributes. you need 16 pts spirit for the clairvoyants hat. you could do a heavy phys build if you want… i just went deep cunning to chase the highest bleed tick possible for the build. Whole re3ason why i am using a different devotion right now is to chase that 250k dot tick! over all the build is probably better off with 35/36/16 distro but … it’s how you want to play it… i am just demo’n the extreme cunning since it is viable and as long as you get 16 spirit and 10 phys your able to wear any gear and can’t really break the build.
Thanks for answers.
After leveling this build a bit - leveling speed is just insane, btw, (i’m afraid to imagine how fast leveling of Vit Conjurer is if simple Devouring Swarm doing so much alone) understanding of this build comes naturally. Build progression too - a just “lag” 5 levels behind your progression path due to maxed-our DS.
I’m not at the point where all bleed stuff start to shine yet, but i start to understand how it’s supposed to work.
But i have one general question - this is my first time playing as non-tanky melee so how i supposed to deal with hard-hitting Champs and Bosses? Apply DOTs and run around, or constantly hit them in melee (avoiding their nastiest cast, ofc)? I mean this build is oriented at wearing Mobs down via DoTs (hit and run) or on more or less constant melee engagement with proper gear at hand?
Butcher of Burwitch is actually your main source of healing on this build. That one axe is insaine. 75% wep skill that does 300 % dmg to life on every crit. It’s crazy. If you don’t have that … stack as much HP as possible and the Wendigo Totem is generally enough healing to keep you going. I am pretty sure in the leveling guide i push for maxed Wendigo totem as soon as it makes reasonable sense.
Have been playing a somewhat similar Trickster bleed build. The only thing I don’t like about your spec is the lack of a big nuke skill for a high weapon-damage bleed. I think you want at least ShadowStrike or Execution hitting for near max weapon dmg to really scale up that one massive bleed stack.
I’m guessing you have a lot of +skills to nightblade which ramps up that execution %, but I would max out Execution to get as much out of that wpn bleed as possible because it’s quite significant with the bleed dmg from Devotions.
I’m trying this awesome build. Have a few questions.
So I must go 100% cunning the whole way ?
What are the priorities order on gear between %bleeding, %attackSpeed, %physical, +skills etc ?
What about doombringer and the carnage set for jewels ?
I’m also considering guthook belt.
I suggest barbaros for pants.
For early levels are there some nice items that can be funy to play with ?
I would like not to respec and try the build, “the hard” way.
BloodReaper Set seems cool.
Could the build become HC viable ?
Sorry for approximative english.

my execution is still 8/8 … and yes i agree… on the wep damage skills savagery is also decently high … but honestly speaking three is plenty of bleed damage on this build… there are many variants of distribution that will work.
shadow strike … only for mobility but my bar is running out of space.
When playing dual wield bleeder, most of that bleed damage comes from gear procs, skills or devotion, not weapon damage. There is not so much to scale there to begin with.
