I thought honey was a food, so I was looking for it under food, but turns out the apiary is under resources.
(I also always get confused about wells, thinking they’re under food but aren’t)
Maybe it’s as designed, but I found it confusing enough to not put it under suggestions
Sorry, but that makes no sense to me. Honey is food, you can eat it. Simple as that.
You can eat it more than any of the stuff that grows on the farms, and the farms are under food.
Honey will be used for making food in v0.9.4. If you get the playtest, you’ll see that a new food is introduced, named “pastries” (luxury food), which needs fruit preserves, flour, eggs, and honey. Actually you will need a lot of honey to make pastries.
No: It still sucks in the latest playtest. I have more honey workers than I can count, filling every nice area of the map, and it is never enough. Disabling beer helps somewhat. Also may have the same issue as hunters (with tallow). When buildings make mutiple products, they can get halted, when one of the 2 products is full, instead o discarding the unwanted goods but keeping what they can sell.
No, foresters aren’t out of the woods yet. You can have just 3 workers in a level 2, with nothing to do for ages waiting for trees to grow. Note I have the guild set for wood, so maybe that makes them work faster than the trees grow?
I dont even bother with the forester anymore. Tree regrowth and gather seems to work better w/o it, so I just rotate mass harvesting spots near the edge of town…I use to be able to build (1)T2 and have that supply towns up to 1k+ pop and just chopping w/gatherers to supplement when wood supply starts running low.
Since the change, the regrowth for trees in the work zone is strange(I’ve noticed it once with arborist, after a couple years it was prod ~50 fruit/year in good soil). Eventually, the workers just sit idle because the regrowth never fully matures(even when having the relic active in the temple), so if you have “only chop mature trees” selected, workers just sit. Obv unselecting that gets them off their ass but that doesn’t really solve the problem. I’ve tried moving the work zone and building, turning production on/off, un/reassigning the workers but it makes no difference.
Wood is a resource that is in constant need for building and as a production resource, from before you even build the town center whereas stone is pretty much situational to building: walls, decos, and a few buildings. There is also a point where stone becomes unlimited. So, I cant really make sense of why the decided to focus on rebalancing the forester building when stone gathering/mining makes far less sense imo.
Disappointing to read, I thought the issues like honey production, wood production and workers not taking raw produce to cellars would have been sorted by now
