You go around telling kids Santa doesn’t exist too? Dream-ruiner! /runs off crying.
Honestly, that is disappointing. I assumed if I dropped Blood Orb on, my Elemental would go Chaos, meaning full Aether/Chaos, then dropping the rings on would turn my existing Chaos to Aether.
In that scenario you are right actually; you will end up with 0 elemental, 50 chaos, and 100 aether. Think of it this way. The elemental goes to chaos, the chaos goes to aether, and the aether stays the same. The elemental damage that was converted to chaos does not go to aether because it was already converted.
I wanted to know what did you link Giant’s Blood to.
I am not sure if its better to link it to any passive skill wich is allways on (like Sphere of protection) or to mirror of ereoctes.
The problem I see is that with a continuous passive it would activate at undesirable times; with the active skill I’am not sure if I lose the hp regen.
Could you illustrate me please how this skill works and what did you link it to?
Also if you could tell us the what did you link the other devotions too would be lovely.
where does sustain come from in this build since you cant lifesteal with spell? doesnt seem to have any heal spells either. sry, im new
any alternative defense options from item, skill or devotion if you are new and undergeared?
thx
You have heals in Giant’s Blood, which scales to 20% HP + flat amount by max rank, and Cleansing Rain, and a ton of HP Regen, I have around 400hp/sec from devotions without explicitly gearing for it. You get CDR from Aldanars Vanity that lets you use Mirror more often, and double up on OFF so you end up being very tanky.
I didn’t end up taking Mirror until after level 50, just followed his leveling options. OFF and Devastation Maxed asap, with Greater Fireblast from Enchanted Flint. I popped more mana potions than HP while leveling. I’m 71 now.
Hope this helps!!
so,i just got aldanar’s vanity on my second char…is all i need an agrivix malice and then i can try the build? what do you guys think? and what about time dilation? wouldn’t that be good with this kinda build?
Are you 70 on your Sorc? If not, I highly recommend crafting Haunt and using that when you can. The active skill is super strong with this build. Then at 70 you can craft Agrivix Malice. Least that is what I did.
Honestly the devotion build is pretty solid. Time Dilation isn’t super necessary as you have cool downs up all the time.
I’m actually trying out a Time Dilation CT Sorcerer at the moment, but I wouldn’t do it with this build. For a build that relies entirely on regen and damage mitigation for survival, Tree of Life and Obelisk are way too good to pass up. CT can take advantage of ADCTH so if you want to try out Time Dilation I would recommend going with that instead of PRM. You don’t need Agrivix to make this build work, but it really helps.
I was having so much fun lvling arcanist with piroblast and debuffing Fire resist that i Wonder if this build Could be carried to harder difficulties, for exemple a tanky EC build.
Would it work? Would you play a sorcerer or battlemage with such build? Would it be better or worse than panetti build? This is the first char I am actually planning to bring to higher difficulties so I dont have any high lvl gear.
Any recommendations for the 3 Hidden Path Skill Points? I dumped them into Elemental Balance for extra Crit damage at the moment, but probably not ideal.
OFF does nothing against bosses and starts to fall of somewhere around the bginning of Elite, if not earlier. As spectacular as it is at the begining, it’s not a viable endgame build. Most certainly worse than a Panetti build.
Ok, I am at lvl 43 right now, heding to Fort Ikon. Soon i am gonna have to respect the fire lvling build into the serius semi definitve one.
If Callidor’s Tempest is that inferior to Panetti’s build, i will stick to it. For some extrange reason a fire - centric build witch CT looks atractive to me (and i read someting about recent buffs, etc); but since I dont have too much time to play with it i will stick to the safer option.
Hold on, where did you mention CT? I’m talking about OFF and Fireblast. CT is very viable. No idea whether it’s stronger than PRM, but it’s pretty good.
This build is nutso. I was streaming on Twitch this weekend with it, under my channel “Watch Me Die” and people were upset that I wasn’t dying, and questioning whether I was human or not.
In the first post I spoke about the fire damage aspect of the arcanist lvling phase, and how I could transition from fireblast and OFF to a CT build centered (wich for what I see is mainly fire damage multipliers and damage, plus a portion of aether damage and arcane bomb). I apologize if i was not clear enought with my idea.
Anyway that’s great news! I’m gonna give it a try through the end of normal and elite start so I can use my fire - focused gear. If I am not happy with CT I will go back to the main plan of Panetti’s build since I am gonna be using the same devotions.
If you have any tips or advices i would love to hear them.
If you use warpfire with a maxed out OFF you can still clear trash mobs in Ultimately easily. Though I do agree with you that it is a major inconvenience that OFF doesn’t affect bosses. Bummer.
