Walls are pervious but opaque

Why are we able to shoot through walls from towers, barracks and the Town Centre but archers have to go outside to shoot? To fix make it so arrows cannot go through walls, and the higher the wall the further the building defenders have to lob their arrows. Crossbows are no good for lobbing so only archer units should use them, standard bows should be used by building defenders.

Yes but if you look there is an area right next to the wall where melee fighters are bashing there way through and archers cannot hit them. Stone walls exacerbate this problem as they are much higher than the wooden palisades. Also if you figure a way for archers to be mounted on the walls don’t tell Crate.

Ok but we’re talking game mechanics, not trying to be ultra realistic. If you wanted to go that route, then you would have to demand things like Firewood having to be stored in a dry place for a year before it can be used, and have laborers pick up deadfall (branches that have dried up and fallen off of trees, which people used to collect for firewood in places like the Commons in the middle ages).
Or if archers could sit on top of walls, then Raiders would get to have ladders to quickly kill your archers, get on the other side of the Gate, and open it up really quick. Later they would just pull up a Siege Tower that’s taller than your walls and have their archers in it take out your archers.

If your archers get to fire through walls, then their archers will be able to do the same to whoever they see behind your walls. That will be a heap of deaths that you can’t do anything about (especially when they come from multiple directions).

Spoil my fun. :pouting_cat:
