What is the transmuter?
And then not to deal damage at all.
I killed Warden at level 9 twice (cause game crashed and i didn’t get the achievement first time) so not sure what you mean.
You’re just doing something wrong, i recommend going ranged at early levels. I never found melee to be good at early game
It’s hard to die to the Warden even on Ultimate. Though personally he’s my favorite part (Awesome music, environment, dialogues and voice acting)
Feral Hunger and Upheaval do exactly what they say, and I’m happy with them.
If you mean they proc off of Primal Strike, then no they don’t. They only proc from Savagery and other LMB skills.
Please, quote my post where I wrote that these two have to do anything with Primal Strike.
I think he was talking to my bad grim calc skills
My first grimcalc was fed ( got distracted) only pay attention to the edited one.
Feral hunger and upheaval wont proc with primal strike, as it is not a default weapon attack (hence why i edited)
It really does fine dmg wise, I’ve been through elite with a similar set up without any deaths, have not finished the character yet though.
I’m pretty sure you didn’t do that on your first game-play ever with poor equipment on veteran difficulty.
Your post right above mine. Sounded seriously you were trying to imply that they work with Primal Strike when you said they worked fine. Please, be more clear in your posts and be less cryptic.
I’m pretty much done here, got better shit to do.
On my first play-through i skipped the Warden and didn’t kill him till Level 30 (after Conflagration). I explored Act II early on in the game
Anyways, i am experienced with ARPGs so i didn’t have too many issues.
I suggest you go Caster and you’ll see how effective it is.
I’ve checked out your setup, but still, I wouldn’t use just two skills. I’m doing just fine with my build on Veteran, even thou I’m new to this game, but I’ve mastered Titan Quest - Immortal Throne, so I know what I’m doing for now.
Feral Hunger and Upheaval work well with my Savagery, and I still can’t figure out why are people shoving in my mouth “words I never said” (words I never wrote in this case ). I have never mentioned synergy between Primal Strike and Feral Hunger+Upheaval.
@wishmaster:
Edit says, apparently i missed a whole page of discussion while writing this :D.
Thounderous strike removes the cooldown. It doesn’t work with feral hunger nor upheaval though.
Upheaval itself is a waste early on imho and doesn’t combo well with other weaponpoolskills , since it overrites them. Either you go ham on the crit and build for upheaval or you skip it.
I would recommend to max out wendigo totem asap. It’s insane.
Savagery charge levels buff Primalstrikes damage too, thus it actually makes sense to use them as a combo.
Savagery also DOES work with feral hunger, wich is a good skill at all stages of the game.
I would recommend something like this:

I would also recommend to spend your devotion points. I would grab Bull Rush first for additional Aoe. Then i would beeline for kraken and revenant (only the lifestealnodes.) You can respecc devotion points, hence you cannot ruin your build by making wrong choices early on.
Another problem might be, that due to inexperience you might not understand what actually IS the good loot in early levels. I recommend to use YELLOW items with HP and/or resistance affixes. This will help you a lot more than crappy blues with 12% physdamage.
I just couldn’t let Wendigo suck all of my opponents, 'cause that wouldn’t be fun.
Thanks for the tips everybody, I’ll switch to normal no veteran, and I’ll report back.
there is next to no difference in loot. As you have a few more heroes, you have a somewhat better chance at good items than on Normal, but only because there are more hero monsters. Other than that the drop rate is identical.
I like that skill on my elementalist (act 1 ultimate now). Procs Tsunami real good + doing some side damage, which goes as indirect dps boost. Didn’t put that much into it, though (2 points, +4 from skill bonuses) — kinda happy with damage at that investment level.
Thats fine, it was only a suggestion.
Also, at some point you will probably want to duel spec into another class (or use item skills) and then you might have more skills than you know what to do with.
Good luck with warden.

But I feel like sht, because I had to play on Normal instead on Normal Veteran. I am hard on myself. He wasn’t even a challenge on ordinary Normal, and my character feels op as fck.

Since I’ve started this game few days ago I created double-hand gunner Demolitionist, dual-wield Nightblade, single weapon and shield Soldier, melee Arcanist and Occultist in the same fashion as Soldier, plus one more Demolitionist with a double handed gun. I’m going to go with all these characters one by one reaching the same checkpoints. But can’t even think playing this game without veteran mode on, 'cause the challenge… it makes my heart jump out, my adrenaline jumps, it makes me stress out in a positive way (except for Warden in Veteran, that one was a negative stress).
The real challenge lies in ultimate game mode, which does not have a veteran counterpart (neither does elite for that matter)
So, no Veteran for higher difficulties? I’ll keep that in mind.
You can say shit, bitch, and fuck here. It’s okay. I’m gonna echo what everyone else has told you before that you’ll be a lot stronger if you drop storm totem and primal strike and put those points in literally anything else you have points in. I’d suggest getting grasping vines since it does some great damage and can hold enemies at bay until you’re ready to deal with them, and take 2 points from modrogen’s pact for +2 heart of the wild. Something like this: http://grimcalc.com/build/1008-H5MQ7e You’ll have a lot more hp, a lot more hp regen, and a lot more battlefield control. And when you gain a level you could pop a point into briarthorn and ground slam for even more enemy control/distraction.
Edit: for devotions, put 1 in yellow, then get all the points in turtle. Bind turtle shell to modrogen’s pact, then pull the point out of yellow and put it into purple and start getting points into falcon until you can get falcon swoop to put on savagery. Devotions are hugely important and getting celestial powers leveled up is really necessary. Crystals are easy to farm and if you really need to you can easily trade for a tonic of clarity to clear your points.
I’ve gone through the game 4 times now, each time doing veteran and being self-found until ~50 when I can start using the legendaries languishing in my stash. Veteran should not be giving you as much trouble as it apparently is. I don’t begrudge you if you don’t want to play on vet, but since you quite clearly want to, you have to either take the advice of people who have several hundred hours of game time logged or accept that you’re just not as good at this genre as you think you should be.
