The ratio of wax and honey collected needs a revisit. I currently have 1274 wax and growing with 5 or 6 Candle shops fully staffed. I am consistently running out of honey.
I think part of the problem is wax is only used by the candle shop while honey is needed for beer, the apothecary for making medicine and upgraded bakeries for pasty making.
Maybe wax could be used for a tier 2 cooper building to improve longevity of barrels - wax sealed…?
Wax paper inside barrels and crates, I used to work with the stuff, though tar paper was better for non-food items, even wrapped and boxed the tar smell got at them. I think it was a Papua New Guinea law, we never used it for South Pacific countries.
You think the same as me, friend. As others have mentioned, I think it would be a good idea to increase the beeswax recipe and reduce the amount of honey used. Remove honey from medicine and add beeswax to shoe production. Adjust the ratio as well. For reference, you need compost when making leather clothes, and to use firewood when making cheese.
TBH, pastries seem to use up infinite amounts of honey on their own. Apparent demand for pastries is enormous, especially since they go bad quickly, or at least I assume they go bad at least as quickly as bread, so (AIUI) they are prioritized when people go looking for food. I wish there was a way to put a yearly rate limit on them, rather than a “we have too much stockpiled” limit.
With that said, multiple demands for wax so that there’s another way to use it if there’s plenty of the first product is a good idea anyway.
All great ideas! Some other uses would be fantastic! I can’t even sell the 1200 wax I have- idk I guess I might throw some away
Currently, the best option is to de-storage it and modify it to only go to the market. The market has a fast inventory turnover rate, so the probability of supplying products before they go bad increases. Do not store bread or pastries in storage.
You misunderstand: I don’t have problems with it spoiling. I have problems with people eating too much of it, thus running me out of honey for anything else!
Didn’t think of that, thought grocers got their stuff from storage only.
Just tried to put bread and pastries only in the markets, got a red box around both when I checked Resources, nor could I change quantities in the markets, just on or off. Will see if limiting them to a single Storehouse with low quantities will make a difference.
I can’t sell pastries or bread, why not?
Are you talking about selling bread to a merchant? Then I think it’s right not to sell it. Bread spoils easily. I think it is right to sell it in the form of wheat or flour. It’s strange that they can’t sell smoked foods or wheat.
friend, that’s so strange. In my case, I own 3 markets and 3 bakeries. So I tailor my bread supply to each market. If an unstored red box appears in the warehouse, Isn’t the market full? check it out
If you don’t understand, please say it again. Translator is difficult.^^
Not all markets stock bread and pasties, and there are no storage facilities available the box is marked with a red border and I get messages about not having any enough storage.
Make sure you have upgraded markets! I’m guessing your storage building is full of something else. Look at the values and sell the surplus finished goods. However, if they are not finished goods- Build production buildings to get the goods made into something to sell. Place storage buildings and/or storage yard near production and toggle on goods needed/produced and toggle off goods not needed. Reduce travel time is #1 priority! Off the top of my head I have 5 or 6 yards and 6 storage buildings. Don’t be shy, storage doesn’t require any workers.
