I was trying to make a build based on Chaosdamage with Wereraven’s attacks,
but when i look at the grimtools database , there are almost no weapons for
wereravens , the only weapon is a scepter, and they’re insanely low damage,
how are you suppose to beat the content with a weapon that does
low damage, meanwhile having literally no survivability because none of the berserker
or Occultist tree’s offers survivability - except battlesurge - which won’t help much.
There are ZERO twohanded weapons that supports wereraven, and only two 1 handed,
a scepter and a pistol .
Wereraven abilities scale with skill level, not weapon damage, so you don’t need a high-damage weapon. The Harbinger’s Void Blade will give you full chaos conversion.
That means the wereraven stops increasing in damage once the 3
abilities are maxed. No weapons will increase it… i don’t see how that’s good.
Then there’s the problem with the survivabiltiy, maxed out resists and still
almost dying several times on bosses on veteran mode.
Any other class, any other build i’ve done, i pretty much danced
through the game. But this wereraven , i really feel the lack of
passives to increase the survivability.
It seems like a good idea to post your build in the appropriate forum section and get some feedback on it. It appears you’re underestimating your other defenses besides resists. For instance, the Berserker’s Battle Surge is a great passive for sustain. Blood of Dreeg would scale your OA to make it go off more often.
Weapons provide many stats besides +skill ranks to raise damage. +% damage, +Crit%, OA, item mod bonuses, +%cast speed, CDR%, -% resistance procs etc.
You have to get creative with survivability when using caster skills with 0 weapon damage on them.
There are many options available. Dryad devotion, Turtle, Behemoth, using Bat devotion (with piercing damage converted to your main damage type).
Levelling with health regeneration devotions will make the levelling experience a lot smoother. Even just Behemoth + Turtle devotion is a nice source of defence.
There are item mods that add +% ADCtH to wereraven skills as well.
caster class weapons like sceptres has 2-3x the amount of % dmg that attack weapons do, which is then good for casters not actually scaling weapon dmg
Weapon slots also provides modifiers and other stats like cast speed etc, so you can rank up skill and dmg by other means than weapon flats
Exactly the same as other pure caster class/skills (db etc)
according to GT looks like it has low drop chance, so going in custom mode, spawning 100-200 of the heros/lakoth and insta killing them might be an easier way to check than ingame rng on 2-4% drop chances
*otherwise you might want to check with someone that unpacked the files and can read the loot tables
For Wereraven you want +X to Wereraven (or Berserker) skill to increase the base damage.
I’ve been using the Harbinger’s Void Blade and but I’m still focusing on cold damage. It gives +2 Wereraven and 2 meter range to Ice Talons it just feels so good! It’s hard to scale Chaos damage at the start, I might do a move to chaos once I have good gear, because the cold devotions are way too good to pass on for now.
Wereraven is a caster.
This is no different than playing PRM, TSS, Rune of Hagarrad, or other spells with no weapon damage component.
And just like those spells, wereraven has itemization to increase damage/speed/crit for either the entire form’s output, or to boost Ice talon or cold snap individually.
Hi, I’m playing for the first time and I really like Wereraven, so I created one and made this Mystic build, combining it with Occultist to boost Chaos damage.
I know it’s not perfect and I’d appreciate any help improving it so I can tackle the Celestial content.
