I have a major issue with the game mechanic that pisses me off more and more after 120 hours of play.
What is the general point of having two indicators: HEALTH and DURABILITY, for buildings?
I think that is an awfully rudimental mechanic and there should be only one bar that will combine both indicators. Because after each raider attack I have to relocate a lot of buildings manually so their health will be restored, otherwise with the next raider’s attack damaged buildings will be destroyed by a few hits. (I haven’t found other ways to heal up buildings)
Or, as an alternative, since the house is being abandoned after it has gone over the too-low level of durability, all the HEALTH must be restored to 100% by the next repair.
It appears to me that your frustration comes with the way you are playing the game, not the game itself. After a raid you should allow your villagers to repair buildings. This may require you to put a large part of your work force temporarily as builders/laborers.
Destruction of buildings from a raid in any large degree (more than 3-5, not including walls/fences) should be a rarity unless you haven’t placed defensive walls and army/guards.
I’m sorry, I might have missed some mechanics in the game.
From what I observed after a raid attack the health of some buildings drops due to damage raiders caused. It can be walls, gates, or non-defensive structures. Not necessarily destroyed. I’m referring not to structure integrity but to the green health bar.
So this green health bar never repairs. For the walls and gates, there is even no option to toggle repair. It always stays damaged until readers come and keep hitting already half-dead gates until they destroy it much faster this time.
The only way I found to handle this for the walls was simply to destroy them and build new ones. For the non-defensive buildings to relocate them to exactly the same spot. Only then health is full again.
The villages themselves never appear to do anything to repair the health bar. Only structure integrity.
Are you saying there is a way to heal that green health bar in the game?
Here is what I meant. Those buildings are damaged for almost 5 years now. They will heal only once I will relocate them. Repair doesn’t fix their health
In my case, it is called “Automatic Building Upgrades Enabled/Disabled”. If this is what you meant.
It was enabled. I’m not sure if it has anything to do with repairing. But it works as an Automatic Building Upgrade for houses. Doesn’t help to repair them though.
Sorry, my bad. Not on game at moment. Was trying to think of what could be turned off. Health of your buildings should improve as your villagers repair the buildings. How many builders do you have assigned for your total population?
I have 35 assigned limits for 570 population. This number is mostly filled.
So the point is that those damaged buildings are actually supposed to be repaired by builders?
Perhaps it was just bugged for this particular game of mine. But since I first played the game like 2 months ago I don’t recall once seeing the health of the building restored anyhow except relocating it or recovering from destruction.
Yes. The health meter on your house should go away once the repair is finished. You need the builders and supplies available though before they can be repaired.
I believe there was a known bug in 7.x that could cause what you are seeing, but at some point this was corrected, and while playing 8.0 this shouldn’t happen.
Have had 4 Raids so far in my latest game, and had no problem having the green bar removed after every Raid.
As a result of Lessons Learned, though, I average about 20% of my working population as Builders or Laborers (after the last Raid, had 125 total working population and 26 Builders/Laborers) and manually switch the majority to Builders after every raid. As long as there is no shortage of building materials, had the buildings repaired in a few minutes.
Earlier, with about half that percentage of ‘free’ workers, it did indeed take forever to get repairs completed.
I’m sorry but I’m having a strong suspicion that I’m being missunderstood.
On the screenshot I framed in red the bar I’m refering to. I just run several tests purposely. I forced the repair by the new feature came with 0.8 as well as let all my 770 population to be builders.
They repaired buildings’ integrity but the health of the buildings didn’t change whatsover.
“As long as there is no shortage of building materials, had the buildings repaired in a few minutes.” - where can I see what sort of materials I need to restore health bar of the building, and not its intergity?
