I felt the eldritch shard cooldown is way too high. It feels like a set that’s just weaker than Octavius and Virtue.
Its dmg can get pretty high but only when all your cooldown skills are up, and that makes it about on par with virtue set’s consistent dmg. So that sucks.
The bloody pox stuff on it feels completely wasted. Bloody Pox would need a whole set dedicated to it, maybe 2 set lol, to be a mainable skill I think.
Vire’s might on it is weird as well and it definitely felt like just doing Righteous Fervor and shield throw was a better route.
Basically I’d like the set’s granted shard to have a much shorter cooldown, especially since you have to kite challenge content.
More OA would be nice. More health would be nice. If it got some of these by trading bloody pox skill mods for occultist buff improving skill mods that’d be neato.

P.S. usually new sets are the ones that get a lot of player’s attention right after release. This set though feels like totally forgotten. There’s been one thread before forum rollback, and it’s grave silence ever since.

So this build is definitely a sentinel that uses (part of) sentinel of the three set :rolleyes:
The idea is to use the full Vanquisher set and 22/12 Tectonic Shift to enable chain Vire’s Might (so can play it like x1x1x1x2’s skater templar or my skater fire sentinel), then use that Defender of the Three, Murmur’s Kiss and Path of the Three to fully convert physical & fire of VM to acid, so we get a pure acid/poison Vire’s Might (with Volcanic Stride).
Weapon from the three set is chosen to compensate for the damage we lack due to using Vanquisher. Aegis serves as a second source of poison, and we also have three T3 devotion procs including meteor to boost skating experience
Not sure if it works but seems fun enough, will probably test it this weekend.
It’s a bit off topic. I’m trying to ascertain the strength of the full set for sentinels. I’ve got a few builds that mix a few pieces of the set in, but given how thematically cool the set is I’m surprised it didn’t do better in getting community interest.
Okay, then I really don’t understand what this set is designed for:
RF -> lack of attack speed, lack of retal added to attack modifier
Vire’s might -> without big CDR like Vanquisher, its DPS seems lacking as a main skill compared to aegis
Aegis -> no skill support at all in this set
And gears like Bramblevine can utilise those good retaliation by DEE modifier but are not compatible with this set, so as a newbie player I really have no idea how to make use of this full set
But pls don’t change the shield, I need it for my skater build

I’d also mention the resists are crap. Unreal rings hide this flaw somewhat. Did you find the build fragile against heavy hitting casters? Also what time does it take for you yo kill someone like Alex or Valdaraan?
I more or less agree with everything in the OP. This seems like a largely acid retal-based build and even after the nerfs to phys retal this build doesn’t really seem like it offers anything phys retal warlord doesn’t already offer but better.
The only somewhat unique thing sentinel gets over warlord is fevered rage memes, but you’d need WAY more DA than this build gives you to use that successfully.
And isn’t the OP using 3 MIs, not 2? 2 creeping rings and Okaloth’s or Cally’s helm?

it seems the whole set wouldnt work (and from what you guys say is not that great), so i might try a perdition shield again for conversion, but that +1 occ/oath is so gooood
Alright, after a bit of tinkering, this is what I came up with. It ends up with respectable armor, OA and DA, decent retaliation damage, but scrapes by on resists.

I think the main advantage for witchblade is the extra tankiness that soldier provides. I use fevered rage and survivability is a complete non-issue.
I just got done timing some runs of SR 65-66 for comparison after making the changes in the 2nd link in my post above. Times ranged from 11-13 minutes.
OA is not an issue because of fevered rage. It’s about the same crit chances as someone with 3k oa. Aleksander is a bit slow to kill because of his massive acid res but other casters aren’t really an issue.
