So right now support for (Vitality) Bone Harvest looks like this:
Newly buffed Iceskorn gloves:
Good old Ghol’s:
Mandatory transmuter:
So basically we have two same-ish gloves which make you decide between speeds plus chance to reset mod and range plus adtch. And then “legacy” transmuter that converts mythical Physical damage to Cold that everybody automatically uses for 2H bone harvest. Problem is that two-handers are again at a disadvantage here. You are choosing to use a big 2h shovel but your BH’s range becomes short.
Suggestion
- remove range penalty on a transmuter and increase range for 2handed users instead
- remove phys to cold conversion and move it to a cold BH item (like mi helmet)
I also think that having two gloves with very same-ish bonuses to BH is a bit confusing but not sure how to solve it (or if it needs solving). Thoughts?
I am sure Zantai is (deep down inside) sympathetic to the plight of 2handers in his own game and won’t give us another “monkey paw curls” type of fix :copium:
I recently tested an Aether Bone Harvest build, and Harvester of Death seems to work properly with it. SR30-31 4:23
I have no real complaints about the performance, but an increase in range would definitely be welcome.
That said, I have a question:
Does the Physical to Cold conversion on Harvester of Death still matter?
Are there any two-handed melee weapons that are actually affected by this conversion?
been asked a couple of times, if it might be a remnant from armour bypass days, i think stuff like Leviathan etc would be the main things, but unsure if there is any “OP” phys BH utility going on in real play.
Besides that it could be a levelling consideration, many 2hs having base phys so the “transmuter then aids 2h cold BH levelling viability” or something perhaps.
I think it’s more common to convert the flat damage from Soul Harvest than to build around the Bone Harvest hit itself for Physical damage.
Also, outside of weapons specifically made for Physical or Pierce builds, there aren’t many two-handed melee weapons with base Physical damage. Maybe Alkamos’ Scythe, Obsidian War Cleaver, or Shar’Zul’s Worldeater.
Isn’t Korvan Reaping Halberd exactly the weapon used for leveling Vitality Bone Harvest? Its base damage is Vitality.
all common weapons etc have base phys hence specifically using the levelling word
and korvan reaping halberd would be of no concern in the consideration of levelling a cold boneharvest build ofc (remember before necro didn’t have cold RR, hence potential boost design consideration via transmuter)
like i said, either might be largely a remnant design of older days, since things have changed a lot
Now necro have cold RR, most magical weapons have base magical dmg etc, (and phys isn’t OP ), neither of those things were the same in the past when the conversion/design was added.
There’s not really anything relevant it applies to. Not sure what the idea behind it is. I’ve complained about this transmuter in the past. There’s already not much support for bone harvest 2h, and no cold, no physical.
Agree on this. It makes sense thematically that a bigger weapon would increase range. But I’m pretty sure the -Range was added as a penalty for the damage modifier. Wild idea: bring back the Terrify status effect here as the new “penalty”
Not sure about this. For endgame, the modifier is good for the alkamos weapons and it used to be good for Leviathan before that item was broken. More importantly, it’s VERY useful for leveling. Necro is getting cold RR and BH is one of the main two cold skills (besides DE). So removing this modifier doesn’t help, it just hurts leveling. What’s the point?
No issue here. Iceskorn is great for cold/vitality builds and Ghol’s has + all damage for damage conversions. Surely the L33T builders aren’t confused by two gloves, right?
I’ve played a BH Apostate a while back and range was not really an issue. I got +2 from Dread and another +2 from Deaths Whisper Hood. And was going to get another +2 from Conduit. That’s 10 meters without the gloves.
