Hello all.
It seems harder and harder to find chtonic seals in the game especially in normal.
I’ve already killed karroz twice and all bloodsworn I could find in darkvale and barely found enough to complete Kymon’s chosen first quest (got 2 on the first run and 2 on the second).
Am I obliged to farm blodsworn in darkvale to get just enough chtonic seals to complete kymon’s chosen first quest ?

The drop rate is abysmal, no matter there’s plenty of recipes which require shitloads of seals. It’s not uncommon to be unable to complete the Kymon quest by just progressing through the game, and additional farm is required. As is in your case. It’s not just rng, drop rate sucks in general.
A pro tip - when in need of seals, farm Korvaak’s tomb. For unknown reasons the drop is ridiculously high there. One may say it’s the high density and shit, but it’s not. It’s either intentional, or a bug. I bet on the former.
I never have to farm those. Usually I go through main quest, until kill Log. Then I go to side quests. Be that time I already got those seals.
Anyway, you can find them killing Chthonic Cultists, from Homestead to Asterkarn Valley, and from Gates of Necropolis to the end.
I am just raising a new toon and I have to say, I was never that unlucky. Always found 4 (Quest + Shrine) on normal just before Asterkarn Road.
But it’s true, best place to farm those is the Tomb of Korvaak. Sometimes it’s like busting a Seal Pinata in there.
For me it;s consecrated Wrappings and Frozen Hearts that annoy me during leveling

I usually get 3 or so seals in Darkvale
Consecrated Wrappings? Even with shared stash? What are you doing whith those Fluff? 
I think I have gathered a few hundred of those. Too many BoC runs.

Found 7 in this Spined Cove run.
Can haunted steels drop? I needed one the other day to craft a relic and it takes 24 chthonic seals to craft one complete haunted steel from scratch!! :furious:

Seals drop about as often as legendary set pieces for me until I get 3 of them for that quest. Then the cult decides that every new recruit gets one.
It was assuming one doesn’t use shared stash:p
I am also lazy to pick up regular mats. I always run out of scavenged plating, bristly fur on many of my toons and and up looking for any remains on other builds
I haven’t been there for a long time, but the “Tomb of Korvaak” is easy and good for doing runs getting “Chthonic Seals of Binding”.

I haven’t thought about the tomb of korvaark, and it’s not too far away from darkvale so it should be good (i don’t like needless farm or backtracking on my normal playthrough)
And yes these seals doesn’t seems to drop before you’ve reached Fort Ikon.
On the contrary, they seems to drop like mad after that, cause I never got this problem on elite or ultimate
Just had 6 seals drop just in Blood Grove. Mistress RNG, she’s a b1tch
I just go to Darkvale Gate, and speed run both levels up through Karroz - who usually coughs up one himself.
But I am lazy, and hate even the miniscule trek to backtrack out of the Black Sepulcher, so I drop a Riftgate next to the entrance, and jog up to the Necropolis RG, activate it, and then port back to the BS. On every first run of every difficulty of every toon.
I’m new to the game but there is a tomb in the asterkarn valley area, tomb of korvaak. I had 11 drop for me in one run. Not sure if just super lucky with RNGesus or this is the drop rate but seems a good place for it. Will also raise your standing with the rovers killing the undead in there.
Also, you can save up many of those Seals, if you’ll hunt Secret Vendor for Vengeful Wraiths, instead of crafting them from Ectoplasm.
I’ve never actually had a build that used Wraiths, actually. I think I have the blueprint and everything, just never had cause to use them. Hm.
It’s mostly used to craft Haunted steel and Arcane Spark along with chtonic steal (there is a shrine that need one in Elite too)
Some other recipes need them iirc

I found several of them earlier, in the Depraved Sanctuary or whatever is called, where Salazar is. In fact, when I was to do the Kymon’s quest, I already had the required number. Sheer luck I guess.
