Seems like it would be reasonable if the soldiers are garrisoned in the barracks all the time that they would stock just as much as the watch tower solders do. Food, water, firewood, soap, etc.

Because that would stop them running all the way home to mummy to get their washing done at the shelter or shop for essentials at the very moment the raiders turn up as most of them seem to do now… ha
