Why so much love to Cadence witchblade and so little to Cadence Comando

Today i learnt a hard truth, Legendaries make the build.

So, going back, i decided to do a tanky character to farm equip for other builds.
Comando is one of my favorites, because blastshield sinnergize in a very good way with a shield build. I use cadence because the hit three buddies at the same time add aoe to a skill that is amazing as a single target damage doer. Blind fury adds more aoe and targos hammer are like a cherry top to a already delicious cacke.

So, imagine my dismay when every piece of legendary equipment was made for witchblade, with shared bonuses for skills on both trees. Imagine my tears of frustration when every damm piece began dropping.

Meanwhile the best my comando could do at lvl 60 was to equip a perdition set and live as a hybrid cadence/retaliation build.

The gods above in the great sky of developer angels must want. No, i think they are ordering me to go witchblade.

Must i defy the gods and die cursing them like so many greeks heroes, or i should i surrender to my fate?

Warborn Commando

Thing is i usually play on green substances and spirits, after 9 hours of kitchen work. So i kinda need a shield just to offset my slow reaction speed.

Also heres my defiance again, because everybody says “(vulgar version of the word fornicate) shields”

Edit: im already at 13k of sheet dps, warborn comando have 17k at lvl 85 with legendary equips

At least have a link next time.

It was 3 secs on google, np. But it appear to me the dmg is too low, even for a tanky build.

Btw, this will be my final form with minor changes

Not very little at all, cadence commado is my main Gladiator crucible farmer. It’s a beast.

Edit. I don’t know if you are following Ceno’s build or doing a shield build with Markovian or warborn. If it’s not Ceno’s You don’t need so many points in fighting form.

You also don’t have Assassin’s Mark. You will do very low damage vs tough bosses/Nemeses without it.

uh guys can you post item setup for the Commando without the Warborn set - i need a build to farm the gear before use it after all

Both emp guardsman and myrimadon sets are quite good. Or just any +soldier skills/physical dmg items really.

To add to this, Myrmidon recently got changed a bit. (or maybe i just noticed it late, but i saw it now grants a set bonus skill)

Empowered Guardsman is really great for a defensive setup (the shoulder provides a circuit breaker provided you have a shield equipped)

Doesn’t really matter what bonuses appear on items, CoF is better than anything Demo has to offer, and Occultist has the same passives otherwise. I can imagine Blast shield and an aoe stun retaliation benefitting some squishier classes like Arcanist, but for something as tanky as a Soldier, damage boost from CoF is just what the doctor ordered.

tl;dr - I can’t imagine Commando ever being a useful class as long as WB is as broken as it is. If they undo some Fire strike nerfs or nerf Cadence back into the dirt, maybe.

Anyone used this skill? i don’t think I have the full set. I kept selling it before the latest patch

Why don’t these builds show up in the compendium ?. I hope multiple people can edit that thread. I’d be willing to add the links in there.

I swear to you my Markovian commando is a breeze in Gladiator. It has huge flat phys damage due to temper 15/12.

Cadence crits at ~180K -200 And blitz 200-250. Asassin’s mark and break morale + gladiator buffs of course.

Edit: not saying it’s better, Cof is ridiculous, But it’s a very strong contender.

if people want these being added to the compendium PM me with the correct guidelines to add them to the list of builds

Lol, glad i’m not the only who did that. Well i left it on the floor at times as well in case i’m feeling too lazy to tp back to town.

Myrmidon Strike
Strike the enemy with a shield and give unbearable internal damage.

300% Off Hand Damage
155-242 Physical Damage
825 Internal Trauma over 5s
Fainting the target 2 seconds (?)

45 Energy Cost
2.5 seconds skill recharge

I got the info from the japanese wikia for Grim Dawn because neither GracefulDusk nor Grim Dawn Gamepedia are updated

If something is unclear then blame google translator :stuck_out_tongue:

The skill itself opens a possibility for a shield focused build.

Triggered…when i complete the set i’m making and internal trauma build with Oleron instead of Bulwark. Thanks:rolleyes: …as if i’m not starting too many builds already

Pretty much my problem right now

Which is the reason why my Poison Sabotuer and Lightning Warder(i’m working on others but this is the closest to completion) never made it to the forums.

This. Although due to cadence changes, great equipment choice (warborn, markovian), huge flat phys from menhirs b, and shield training, op overguard any phys shield build with soldier survivability, and in some cases dmg, vise is far above any other melee build.

My builds are almost never in the compendium anymore because I have no idea which compendium to use and who’s in charge. Seems to change with the wind.
